    ... of this NP is underwater, it is well worth the visit. The history of the fort, the role it played in US history going back to the civil war, and the shear size and unbelievable construction of this building out in the middle of the ocean, made the visit very memorable. The Everglades is huge, and you can only see a very small portion of it via road ways, but what we did see was wild and untouched by humans. The end of the road was a visitor center and marina.
