      Liverpool

What can I say about Liverpool? It is a port city, historical, industrial city. It has a lot of full bars, even on a Sunday. And that's not a good thing From what iv seen its a hard working town. From what I read, Liverpool is a very safe city. It doesn't ...

Liverpool was a balance between York and Manchester. The city life definitely accessible but it was still cosy and romantic. We enjoyed walking along the docks and looking at the ships moored along the shore of the river whilst devouring some epically delicious homemade fudge!

Highlights definitely include the evening spent at the Cavern Club singing and dancing to Beatles tribute songs and the Tuk Tuk drive through the city.

... We enjoyed some canapés washed down with some sparkling wine, and listened to a speech from the Captain as well as watching a presentation showing the future FOCL cruises. Then it was time to go to lunch. :-)

Afterwards we went back up on deck to do another five laps, and we noticed it was quite a lot colder, and there was a strong wind blowing at the port side bow.

Coming back into the warmth of the Boudicca we had a post-luncheon nap, then ...

... preparation for today’s Remembrance Day service. We are not particularly religious, but I do find Remembrance Day to be very moving, and we always watch the events at the Cenotaph on television every year.

I draped a huge flag around my shoulders; it depicts the silhouette of WW1 soldiers, a large poppy, and the words “Lest We Forget” emblazoned across it. I brought it especially, as I knew there was a good chance that the cruise ...
