... do last minute shopping and pick up Hubby for dinner. I try to call Jan to invite him for dinner but cannot find him. With high expectations (as Ego would say, sorry: a bit obsessed by Ratatouille) we go for dinner in the Trader's Ridge Resort. Tomcat has lasagna, I have pizza with Italian ham and parmesan. Those people do not know how to cook! My theory is that they are NOT qualified chefs. Home, packing, Ratatouille (yes, again), alarm clock at 5!
Colonia, Micronesia tonyandmarina... does not taste bad but: my plate looks as if a cat puked all over it: yuk! I am NOT hungry anymore! Afternoon: hunting for diving. We walk by the church, where girls come out: topless! Hubby found: http://www.mantaray.com/ We arrive in the middle of a personnel party. We meet Jan, the manager of the dive shop: Belgian and cute. Also, we are offered a beer from their ... local brewery. That is right: dive shop, restaurant (in a ship), hotel and brewery. Brings ...
Colonia, Micronesia tonyandmarina... these same conditions also made it easy to trap their fleet. On 2/17/1944, the U.S. launched a massive air attack & like sitting ducks, the Japanese were bombed nonstop for 2 days. At the end, over 60 ships, as well as U.S. aircraft sunk to the bottom. Among the wrecks are tankers, cruisers, submarines & cargo vessels still full of guns, trucks, aircraft, ammunition, skeletal remains & other relics. Some of them are only a ...
Chuuk, Micronesia foxycruiser... which was really interesting and a once in a life time experience. We also took a boat and went exploring around Nan Madol which ruins from an ancient city, defiantly check this out. The people are so nice on Pohnpei and the interaction that we had with them because my sister taught a lot of the children was great. One day we went to my sister soccer team practice and played soccer with all the little kids. If you every want a trip of a life time go to Pohnpei.

They were quarried on Pohnpei Island and hauled to the site by raft and then stacked horizontally around the islets as retaining walls. In the picture you can see that the walls go right into the water. The resulting canals are known as the "Venice of Micronesia." Most of the ruins have collapsed but the one I am in front of is ...
Kolonia, Micronesia reds_adventure... go right into the water and the resulting canals are known as the "Venice of Micronesia." Most of them have collapsed but the one in the picture is the largest one still standing, called Nan Douwas. It was used a burial place for royalty. I decided to go climbing around on the inside despite the fact that the stones were incredibly slippery from the on-again, off-again rain that is always happening here. So I was shimmying down a narrow ledge to ...

It is strange being in a group that is so geographically spread out, only having contact with the group 3 times in 2 years, bringing all of our unique experiences and stories, and having one hell of a party. Yapese style! I have returned to Pohnpei, seemingly renewed, seeing the closure appear on the horizon, desiring to see all I can and have all the positive impact I can before ...
Rohi, Micronesia jeff737373... enemies. I have watched them all grow and progress, and have never tired of spending my hours every day with them. The students took their high school enterence exams the other day (which is necessary due to a lack of high school space), and after the english portion was completed, they came out of the classroom with big smiles, all thanking me for the hard and copious work i'd given to them....it seemed as if they were well prepared, and the test went well for them. That was a ...
