Athens
We spent three days in Athens after our cruise ended. Much of our time was spent exploring the numerous sites of ancient ruins, many dating back to the 5th century BC. The Acropolis was the most spectacular, even though much of the site is undergoing extensive maintenance to rectify work that was completed in the late 1800's. Cruise Part 2
Day 7 of the cruise took us to Aghios Nikolaos, Crete. We had no organised tour for here so we went on a "road train" ride around the city. An interesting city with many of the usual Greek highlights, churches, restaurants and hotels. Right away, I knew they needed more space to roam around in, since all three were cramped in a little caged area for food, bath, and sleep.
