... so we jumped on the train, after proudly purchasing tickets with no help from locals. A couple of stops later we decide which exit to leave the station by... and OMG - we walk up these steps and there looming in front is the Duomo itself. No words here. Just magnificent.

And then we are accosted by about 30 people trying to sell selfie sticks, good luck bracelets, scarves,... the sellers are everywhere, they are persistent, and actually a little but ...

WEDNESDAY 10 JUNE

Ahh the feeling of waking up with no alarm, nothing planned and nowhere to be.

We are still in the lovely Lake Como region, the day has started a little overcast, but its warm and we are in a hotel overlooking a lake. Its so freakin wonderful I have no words to describe this.

We went down to breakfast at the very civilised time of 8am, there was cereal, yoghurt, cold meats, eggs, pastries and breads and fruits. Lots to choose from. A jug ...

All work done by 9am, but raining all morning, but can see it is clearer out west, so at first sign of a bak will be heading off. Which turned out to be at 10am.

I must thank Luigi for his hours of work to get all that done within a day, and being such a great host, making sure I had somewhere to stay, driving me around, etc....

Very picturesque and close to the Italian Alps, I recommend this as a city worth seeing if you have a day spare.

For the day, we made a quick trip to see Bergamo, a small city which is actually more than just another port-of-entry into Milano.

... from the front desk for a "locals" spot, we were once again on the metro to a neighborhood we had never heard of.

"Where the hell are we?!". Somehow we have a knack of getting sent into bad areas, or at least areas that are aesthetically unappealing anyway.
