... failed in that regard, we finally ended up in the first restaurant we'd spotted, more of that later. Secondly and in order to get to Fanton, we had to catch another public mode of transport that we had yet to use, the electric tram. Jon loves all examples of train-like transport systems and indeed is an authority on some aspects of them, specifically the braking systems. As such he is a great travelling companion (in fairness in ...

... This was a German trading company that operated in the Baltic and North Sea regions for several centuries between 1360 and 1761. Only German nationals could be members of the League but in order to facilitate expansion and influence, non-Germanic ports were classed as ‘Kontors’, run by German Nationals at least initially. Examples of Kontors include Bergen, London, Ipswich, Bruges and Novgorod. This powerful trading organisation had considerable influence ...

... as much as you like on the bus until your time is up. Here it is a generous 90 minutes, more than enough for us to drop off the computer at the Laksevåg Senter (a shopping mall) and return, all for 50 Nok, at least it would have been if Julie had retained the ticket ( I had to mention that!). ... the wind was a lot cooler. We do a tour tomorrow just a short drive into the country will finish this off after that. This is a quite rich country with the types of shops, cars and people (no beggars) due to oil explanation no.1 industry. (Each other country we have been to there have been beggars). Our tour took us just mainly around residential area of Bergen most home ...

    Best Round About Yet

Time to move back to a city and see Bergen over the weekend. En-route, we have crossed the largest suspension bridge, a round about in a tunnel and even walked behind a waterfall.

Some of the roads were about 5cm wider than GP so meeting traffic coming the other way was interesting to say the least!

Did we mention the rain, hail stones and sun all within 1 hour....thought not! Ho Humm

Stopping at a nice camp site even though it is near a main road.
