... which is in fact quite palatial, then stopped at Mextremes for a Mai Tai. The manager introduced himself. He'd read my review of their sister restaurant Marinero's (presumably recognising me from my profile picture) and wanted to thank me for my positive comments by asking me to their buffet dinner. I had to regretfully decline as I need to eat at the Krystal tonight to finish my credits before I check out tomorrow - if you don't use them you lose them.

All in all, even Cancún was a nice place to spend our last days in Mexico. During the almost two months in this wonderful country, I really fell in love with it and will definitely be coming back! There is something about its people, its mentality, its food and its way of life that simply attracts me. Go there and experience it yourself! :-)

... lit up the temples and told the story of the site (albeit in Spanish so didn't understand a thing haha!). Chichen Itza was very touristy and damn hot the day we visited, which took away from the experience a little, but it was still amazing to hear how the main temple was built to align with the sun - at a certain time of the year the temple is in exact alignment with the sun to light up the image of a serpent down one edge of the pyramid, amazing how they did that back ...

... rain the entire time! The south of the island looked a lot like the north of Tas, except it was hot haha. We also sussed out the scuba diving at sea hawk divers- the good spots are at the reef (machones) and the sleeping shark cave- where apparently bull sharks sleep! For dinner we went to a Mexican restaurant where we got 3 tacos and 2 beers for $AUD6.90! Today we ...
