A beautiful, clean and convenient hotel with spacious rooms just across the river, near some great restaurants. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, organising tuk tuk drivers and providing advice. The breakfast was great too. And the lap pool and outdoor deck was a nice bonus!

I love this hotel for its focus on enabling the local people by giving proceeds of their profits to local charities. The hotel is kept in good condition and has all of the amenities you will need in your travels: free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, rooftop bar, sky jacuzzi, sun deck, bikes to rent, a spa, and enough guides and maps to read for ages.

We had a great night’s sleep and went down to the charming hotel restaurant for breakfast, still amazed we were in Siem Reap already! We enjoyed the fresh food and arranged a tuk tuk driver for the day to take us to the temples.

After stopping to buy a three-day pass, we drove past some of the sites and through a number of …

... we were done and dusted, had collected our luggage and were being ushered outside for our transfer to Amansara. Still not sure who he was but God bless him! Well, the next surprise was the wonderful vintage Mercedes that was waiting to take us to the hotel. Amazing fun and we caught our first glimpse of Angkor Wat en route which reduced Mrs J to tears! Arrived at this incredible hotel which has a quite extraordinary history. More ...

Angkor Wat and an afternoon in the sun

... I loved the main Angkor Wat temple yesterday I think this was my favourite - it was just so wild looking and cool to be scrambling around in the jungle surrounded by massive trees. After exploring for a couple of hours it was back in the bus with a quick stop at a local artisan workshop. This place takes local villagers and trains them in silk painting, silk weaving, pottery, carving and other skills so they can make a living. There ...
