Temples and tuk tuks

I got the boat up to Siem Reap from Phnom Penh as I had been told that although it was more expensive than the coach, it was more spacious and that I could get up and wander around during the 6 hour trip. I slept pretty much the whole way there. Oh well.

I arrived in Siem Reap a couple of days before my Gecko's adventures tour was going to …

Watching the Sun Rise at Angkor Wat

While my stomach troubles continued, I was determined to bike to Asia's most famous temple, Angkor Wat to watch the sun rise. This was perhaps my best decision of the trip. I arrived in Siem Reap late the day before, quickly applying for my visa at the airport and arriving at the hotel by tuk tuk. I had learned from the hotel that I could rent a …

Siem Reap, the gateway to the famous AngKor Wat, is a mere 2 hours flight away from Singapore. My main purpose of visiting Siem Reap is for the infamous Ang Kor Wat, and the various temples built during the ancient Angkorian period. Travelers from the west spend disgusting amount of money coming to visit this magnificent site, which is laterally at …

Bang Melea is located some 70km from Siem Reap. When we first reach the grounds, there are lotus ponds on either side of the bridge leading into the temple grounds. As we …

    Excellent Hotel for the Price

I love this hotel for its focus on enabling the local people by giving proceeds of their profits to local charities. The hotel is kept in good condition and has all of the amenities you will need in your travels: free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, rooftop bar, sky jacuzzi, sun deck, bikes to rent, a spa, and enough guides and maps to read for ages.
