... here was the parking, which was €1.00 for 4 hours. Dune du Pyla is the tallest sand dune in Europe, and overlooks both hinterland and the sea. We just sat at the top of the dune for a while and took it all in. Again, another place to bring the parents, maybe with a picnic and some nice Bordeaux wine! Being our first Christmas away from home, it was a bit strange. On Christmas Eve, we were invited around to one of the players houses for a feast and a few drinks. Not getting home until 5am on Christmas morning, most of the morning was spent trying to catch up on sleep. ... over to the euerkerk (old church) which was quite nice. We found some red-eyed pigeons which was a bit disconcerting. Then we were off to catch the ferry to De Pannenkoechenboot (pancake boat). Yes we ate dutch pancakes on a boat and it was awesome. There was even a ball playpen for the kids which was pretty cool. Wonderful experience, definitely recommend. ... atmosphere, we were also lucky enough to have a dry day! We stopped by the river to have our picnic and people watch and couldn’t believe our eyes when a dog stopped for a poop and it’s owner not only picked the poop up but then proceeded to ‘wet wipe’ his dog’s bottom…..only in France eh!!!!!
