          Kingersheim to Reykjavik

Got up early, must have been from being anxious about getting on the road, checking in at the flughafen and going through security. Robert and Magili stopped by to join Marie to see us off. We thanked everyone for their hospitality, gave hugs and kisses and said goodbye. There was a 30 minute delay with the flight to Ísland. There were no ...

... we arrived back on land, we noticed a little flea market going on at Bürkliplatz, that apparently goes on each Saturday. Although none of us had luck in finding any treasures, we had a fun time looking around at the goods people had for sale. We were beginning to get hungry for lunch after that, so we decided to head back to the Irish pub to grab some grub. (Just realized that rhymed - Ha!) Anyways, after we ate some lunch, we did some window ...

... watch shops!! Sean had talked about how he maybe could do a semester in Zurich or Norway. We think he'd love Zurich, but it's expensive & he might buy too many watches!! We returned on the same S5 train we came on, checked in on Noel & slept soundly in our little, clean Swiss room. And we're glad we stopped here for a day as there's something about Switzerland we've always loved. Maybe it's the mountains, just like ...

Our train journey from Berlin was very pleasant as we had a first class apartment which we shared with a woman and her young daughter as far as Frankfurt and from there to Basle we had it to ourselves. The downside of the trip was that the restaurant was not working due to a fault so their was only a limited food service. We only had a sandwich and an expensive cup of weak tea during the day so ...

A decent sleep for a change, getting up c 0615. Still lots of time to do ablutions, check the US midterm election results and get yesterday's blog up with a bit of email to boot.

Went down for brekkie c 0745. Lukose was upstairs. The airport crowd was too tired to ask him any stupid questions today. The restuarant was quiet with more than half the group gone. A masala omelet [with the works] was the best of the fare. Spared the semi-torture of a table with ...
