    On somewhat of a whim we have decided to venture into Milan for the day. None of us have ever been here before, so its a new experience for all.

    The day started beautifully with a large number of people Para-sailing and sailing about on Lake Como this morning. Very nice thing to wake up to. After breakfast we left this lovely place and, with our GPS friend made our way into Milano.

    ... pinks, rustic reds and pale creams. There are large road tunnels on both sides of the lake, huge gaping holes built into the mountains to allow drivers to wind their way around this big expanse of water.
    WE saw lots of these tiny villages on our way around, we saw large villa's, even a glimpse of where George Clooney is supposed to live. I was surprised that there wasn't more traffic on the water. No speed boats, no kayaks, no water skiers. There was really only a few ...

    ... afternoon, Nathan, Tilly and I, had our first of what I hope will be many excursions into Milan. We took the bus from near our apartment to a metro stop and then the metro to the Duomo. It was pretty surreal to climb the stairs out of an underground train station see the enormous cathedral gradually emerge, step by step.     ... hotel. There were a lot more shops to see and different from those around the duomo right near our hotel. Still didn't find much to spend our money on but we had managed to spend another couple of hours out and about. We had dinner at a local travattore with some wonderful seafood.
