... markets. Our experience of nightlife has been varied over the last couple of weeks: KL's was thriving, but Georgetown seemed to have a much earlier curfew, so we had no idea what to expect from our first stop in Thailand. It was soon clear that Songkhla runs to an even earlier finish time than George Town; after we'd enjoyed a jug of Chinese iced tea and two sea bass dishes, the restaurant closed and at 9pm we wandered back through near-deserted streets and spent a ...

We were dropped off a fair distance from the ferry port, so had to get a map from a local hotel, but eventually found our way to the port. A street market dinner of mystery meats later, and we were boating our way ...

Day
7 November 7 ~ TJ opens his eyes. He can hear loudspeakers and many
people walking around. He is laying on the middle of the floor inside
the train station. He sits up. People smile and laugh to see the
hungover farang wake to life, in the middle of a bustling hallway. TJ
rolls up his bedroll, checks to see that all his belongings are still
in his back pack, they are. He gathers his **** together and walks to
the snack shop ...
