Ok so the houseboat party was a pretty epic and amusing way to start but it was time to escape the non-stop rush and smog of the big smoke and head south to Songkhla were we have been VERY kindly looked after by a family friend and his family called Martin.

Martin is english and teaches english in a local school, he has been in Thailand for 7 years and is married to a Thai lady called Supinda (sp?) with two kids; Nana who is 6 and little Ron who is 10months.

... train was an experience and much more fun than the bus! With a great restaurant and bar we ate a big meal of duck red curry and chicken and cashew nuts with a mushroom soup and fresh fruit. ... to play Thai Poker and taught them another game. Of course there would always be food involved because the Thai do like their food. We had some interesting dishes and most of the fruits were really amazing and all tasted wonderful.

We have had an amazing two weeks and would recommend it to anyone. If we would have some more time we might have stayed a while longer but we need to go to Bangkok to arrange our visa for Myanmar.
