        Liked This Place

I stayed here 31-03-07 - 14-04-07 and must need glasses. Unlike the other reviews, I didnot see any flies on the food. We thought the food was ok, ( wish I agreed with the others I put on 1/2 stone!) there was soup, a choice of salad for starters and then fish, chicken, meat, pasta and stew, etc. My main complaint was that nearly every day you had chips, potato wedges or some fried potatoes. We had evening meal at various times between 7 and 9 and only found one item cold and that was the day we went at 10 to 9. We stayed in a 4* all inclus in October and we didnot get proper pepsi, fanta, etc you did here. Our bungalow was very clean and looked as though it had been refurbished recently. There was a gap at the top of the door, but does that matter! We found the staff OK, some could only speak a little English but you are in a Spain and not in a 5* hotel. The entertainment was only on a Thursday and Saturday night but I think this was because it is early seson. This was the 1st all inclusive that we have been to, where no snacks were available after 9pm, but to be honest we were full anyway. We would go again after all you get what you pay for!

        Just Don't Go

I booked a fully inclusive holiday at these Bungalows and I wish I hadn't bothered. The food was so bad we could not eat it and had to pay for meals outside. My partner is vegetarian and he had little or no choice of food - lettuce and sometimes chips - even the salads had meat in them! The breakfasts were just as bad with congealed eggs! I pointed out that my partner was vegetarian but it made no difference. The dining room staff were rude and very unhelpful.

My daughter's bungalow had ants and cockroaches and she had to keep her clothes in her suitcase.

There was no atmosphere about the place and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. There seemed to be a lack of interest in guests and their enjoyment.

I am disappointed that I saved up to go on this holiday - it is definitely not a 3 star rating.

I heard that this is the first year they have done all inclusive - they have a lot to learn - especially in the catering department!

        No way again

i took my 13 year old son here for a week holiday, so glad i didn't book two weeks,

food was not great at all, there was always food from the previous days used again in dishes even though flies and children was touching everything. the bar staff was rude and did not want to talk to us, or laugh and joke, didn't like customers at all.

rooms was good and spacious for two. other people who was there with 3 or 4 complained that they only had a sofa bed as well, so then it becomes very small room. could sit out side and take in the good weather on the patio. there was no entainment for the children unless they were under 12 and then it was colouring. my son made good mates and played around the basketball yard and looked after each other.

there was a good supermarket complex near and also holiday play park within walking distance, with fun fair and rides where you could use points off a card to pay for rides, great for all ages.

        Prison camp

We have just returned from a week at this resort and were very disappointed. I wish I had never gone on holiday what a week of night mares I took two daughters one son in-law and three grandchild two age three 0ne age seven and myself here all inclusive for a week on the 26th March. For my fifth birthday trust me we were starving when we came back to England! The food tent - and it is a tent - is full of flies and unless you like beef stew raw Chicken and raw mixed veg every day do not go all-inclusive! to this place the food was cold, disgusting. restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful, my two three year old grandchildren picked up a Apple at snack time and the staff came out shouting at them No No No they was not allowed to have an apple then the kitchen staff shouted for more staff to come and tell my baby's they were not allowed an apple as you can well imagine the baby's were very scared and upset, my baby's then threw the apples and ran we were then unable to get them to eat there again even when we went out for food they were to upset to eat. when we did go to the bar the staff were rude we were told only one drink at a time there were seven of us then the staff called all the holiday makers thinking we couldn't understand them I don't think they have ever heared of customer services. This resort states they offer entertainment what a joke you sit in the cold all night waiting and nothing happens and when some holidaymakers decided enough was enough and put on some music the staff were very rude and threatening and one of the holidaymakers had a drink thrown in her face off a member of staff

The place was said to be a 3* but quite honestly I would not rate it any more than a 1*. The bungalow was very basic with ill-fitting doors that you could see daylight through. When you have a shower you have to wait at least an hour before the next person can use it as they only have small boilers. Also the rooms are only equipped for two people having only two single beds which ment in one of our bungalows my daughter and husband had to share a bed with either one of there children and in the other bungalow my daughter had to share with her child. Also do not expect the bedding to be changed during your stay it took 2 days for them to bring me a blanket for one of the beds and we only got that because I kept going to reception to ask and in the end wouldn't leave till they got me one. The bungalows also have conjoining doors into your neighbours and we were quite surprised on arrival as were our neighbours themselves to find you can walk into the next property. As it was our neighbours were very nice people but this may not always be the case. My neighbours were My Daughter Son in-law and two of my Grandchildren.

You also have no inside seating to sit on at night the bar is out side so if you did stay here you end up getting cold in the evenings.

On talking to many English holidaymakers whilst there none were very happy with the place or the food. If you are taking children please take snacks with you as adults found it hard to eat the food let alone the kids. The only good thing about the holiday was the weather.

However, I will not be returning to this resort EVER! Barbara Wilson Knutsford Cheshire

        Don't stay here.

        Very disapointing.

Accommodatin clean but very old, furniture shabby, with windows and doors badly fitted. With three sharing you have to fight to get in the shower first as that's the person who gets the hot water. The third person ends up sleeping on a sofa, if they are of normal height their head and feet rest on the wooden arms. Beds are very uncomfortable.

Building work in the next bungalow starts at 8am with drilling.

Swimming pool attractive but have not seen any cleaning going on. Get down to the pool early as people do the towel thing at dawn and reserve the best spots then turn up at 4 in the afternoon.

Food! awful, no choice or taste, presentation was bad, zero points. Served in a tent with plastic garden funiture.

Worst part was the bar. Only had the outside bar with a small marquee roof / gazebo type thing next to it, which meant that at night everyone tried to get in this area.

All inclusive from 11am to 11pm. Bar shut at 11pm shutters went up, lights went out and staff went home. Repeated requests for the VERY, VERY rude staff to turn on some music were refused point blank. This was only rectified after so many people complained at the main receiption, (Which shuts at 9pm), that they had to do it.

Little entertainment and no bar meant that this cheap All Inclusive break became expensive as you ended up getting cabs into town for fun and food.

Felt sorry for those people who had saved up the hole year and brought their kids.

You almost get what you pay for !

These bungalows are BASIC but exceptionally clean. Furniture is old and worn. Security is a concern as doors, windows and locks are a joke. Bar and restaurant staff are rude beyond belief and will make jokes at guests expense by deliberately mis-understanding what is being asked. Oddly they did not expect ANY English guests to be able to understand spoken spanish. They fail to realise that we have saved long and hard for our holidays and expect courtesy at the very least. They appear to view the guests as total inconveniences to their day of cigarette smoking and sneaking the odd drink every now and again.

Food was variable. Some really excellent attempts but also some horrendous concoctions. NOTHING for children to eat at all. I felt so sorry for parents with children in tow.

Pool was filthy and at night you could see the scum and grease floating on top. On closer inspection the bottom of the pool was covered in leaves, twigs and all manner of dead insects. Not once did we see the pool cleaned or any chlorine etc added. This was an absolute health hazard. Also at night at Sonora Golf..you might have expected cocktail hour....here it was cockroach hour !! Some of the little blighters were 3-4 inches long too. Mind you they seemed to be enjoying their stay more than the humans.

The bottom line for this accomodation is this....you get what you pay for. It IS cheap but with a little work on cleanliness, courtesy and personal hygeine of the staff, the place could be turned around into a really pleasant place to stay.

        Don't come here

Don't come here if you want a good holiday unless you are old and German. The chalets are BASIC, no phones as promised,TV

1 euro / hour 3 english channels: CNN, cartoons + poor films.

After each shower you have to wait 1 hour for the water to reheat

the chalets are insecure each chalet can access it's neighbour

and the external window lock is a joke, our room safe (2 euro a day) was secured by a key not an electronic lock as in every other hotel I have stayed in this centuary, you really need another key on holiday. The food was in our opinion apalling we suspect it was the cause of our badly upset stomaches on our second day as the only thing that we both ate on the previous day was the pork from the resturant on the evening of arrival. If you have got to eat here get in as soon as the resturant opens as they may not keep the food hot enough, if you have got kids take some food with you as they may not like anything that is served up. Entertainment was provided on two nights only, one night was a very good snake show, however the 2nd night was an eldery singer who mumbled her way through her repotoire. If you are "all inclusive" if the staff know you are going you will not be allowed any food or drink after 12 o'clock even though you haven't yet spent 7 complete days at the resort, keep your wristbands on and your heads down otherwise the staff will attempt to snatch drinks back from people. This is the only all inclusive resort we have stayed at where packed lunch was not on offer for days out. In the end we ate out several times so ended up paying twice for our meals and drinks. Maspalamas is a nice area and I would stay again but not at this Senora Golf Bungalows

Food is a no no no !!!!!

        joanne and Dave, Sunderland,

oh my god! i wish i had waited til more reviews were on here til i went. i took a large husband and 2 hungry boys both under 10 with me here all inclusive for a week on the 27th march. trust me they were starving when we came back to england! The food tent - and it is a tent - is full of flies and unless you like beef stew every day with watery gravy and raw carrots - dont go all inclusive!

the food was cold, and choice was desperate. restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful, and bar service between meals non existant.

entertainment was one night with an elderly lady singing german/spanish songs.

most people here were elderly german couples, and didnt speak english

the staff are TOTALLY non english speaking AT ALL and can be quite rude even when i tried to speak to them in spanish for politeness sake. even at reception, they have little time for you even to ring you a taxi is a chore.

HAVING SAID ALL THAT! the bungalows are srupulously clean and in a beautiful setting, with palm fringed pools and beatifull gardens filled with lovely palms and flowers. every bungalow has its own little garden area with patio, great for romantics or elderly couples. its all really easy access too.

the pool is amazing and has kids pool separate, both really clean, and plenty of sunbeds/parasols to go round.

there is ice cream almost always available for the kids which was great, and the limited alcoholic drinks available (including a very watery red wine..!) are there 11 til 11. make sure you have plenty to drink with breakfast as they wont serve any drinks til 11, or stock up in your own fridge .

the Sonora Bungalows is right bang in the middle of allsorts to do, there is a huge shopping complex, mini golf and theme park , bowling alley and restaurants within 5 mins walk,, the waterpark is 3 euro away by taxi, the maspalomas dunes (beach) are 3 euro away, so is the animal park , and playa d'ingles, so its in an excellent position ideal.

the rep sold us a boat trip for 90 euro, when we got there people paying to get on were only paying 44 euros!

great value if you dont pay for the all inclusive option!

        Good Value

very cleen and quite. Mostly Germans staying here but they made us very welcome and were a great crowd to spend a holiday with. Plenty of shops, restrants and market nearby. Beach is a short bus ride away but we stayed by the pool a lot as it was peaceful and quite. We got sent here as our original bunglow on the Kiwi complex had problems and it was the best thing that could happen. We would love to go again and I am trying to find a place to book it. Loved the place and the company.

As you may expect (since we docked our ship there), Las Palmas is a seaside city with and abundance of palm trees and is therefore so named. The grey skies that greeted us soon melted away to reveal the endless blue one would expect from this holiday destination. Gran Canaria is referred to as a miniature continent, as it contains so many different micro-climates. The population is 1.4 million and Las Palmas is a busy port. As we walked away from the ship a lady in costume ...
