Heading to the dry lab I got dropped off one stop too late, so I was forced to walk to the campus. At the stop a lady also got off with me, she was heading to the same campus, it was her first day as a researcher in this university. As we were walking up a road without a sidewalk we were offered a ride from a fellow professor who was heading to the campus, we gladly accepted and headed to the labs. As I arrived I was told that ...
... about the apartment, he gave me a pair of keys and I gave him rent for this month. The way he smiled at me is what made me doubt this whole thing, it was as if he knew something I did not. Once in Las Palmas the taxi driver dropped me on the right street but the building number was nowhere to be found, and then he drove off. I walked back some 20-25 meters and found the correct building. The moment of truth was if either of the keys worked with the front door. If ...
... This city and island deserve more time for exploration. There are some lovely parks in Las Palmas, and a drive around the island would show the diversity of landscapes, from sand dunes to lush forest.
I had to get up at 4:00 a.m. to make it to my flight to Greece. Early morning taxi rates – buses don’t run that early – cost me a staggering 40 euros (CA$61) to get to the airport.
... man boom, clinks very loudly, pulleys rattle and you have a feeling that all is not well. However this is not the case and three days in, sailing could not be more straightforward, with very few sail changes needed and the wind almost always in the same direction. We run downwind most of the time, which rocks the boat the least and means that life on the floating raft is really quite comfortable. ...
... as he just told us the basic step for trying to get up on the wave. So we got in the water and spent the 2 hours face planting and swallowing a lot of water. It was tons of fun and I wish I was there longer to keep trying. I did manage to get up and ride the wave a few times and it was awesome. So cool. Need to move to Cali or Australia and just spend all my time surfing! When I was told that it was my last run I wanted to ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Bungalows Sonora Golf Maspalomas
I stayed here 31-03-07 - 14-04-07 and must need glasses. Unlike the other reviews, I didnot see any flies on the food. We thought the food was ok, ( wish I agreed with the others I put on 1/2 stone!) there was soup, a choice of salad for starters and then fish, chicken, meat, pasta and stew, etc. My main complaint was that nearly every day you had chips, potato wedges or some fried potatoes. We had evening meal at various times between 7 and 9 and only found one item cold and that was the day we went at 10 to 9. We stayed in a 4* all inclus in October and we didnot get proper pepsi, fanta, etc you did here. Our bungalow was very clean and looked as though it had been refurbished recently. There was a gap at the top of the door, but does that matter! We found the staff OK, some could only speak a little English but you are in a Spain and not in a 5* hotel. The entertainment was only on a Thursday and Saturday night but I think this was because it is early seson. This was the 1st all inclusive that we have been to, where no snacks were available after 9pm, but to be honest we were full anyway. We would go again after all you get what you pay for!
I booked a fully inclusive holiday at these Bungalows and I wish I hadn't bothered. The food was so bad we could not eat it and had to pay for meals outside. My partner is vegetarian and he had little or no choice of food - lettuce and sometimes chips - even the salads had meat in them! The breakfasts were just as bad with congealed eggs! I pointed out that my partner was vegetarian but it made no difference. The dining room staff were rude and very unhelpful.
i took my 13 year old son here for a week holiday, so glad i didn't book two weeks,
These bungalows are BASIC but exceptionally clean. Furniture is old and worn. Security is a concern as doors, windows and locks are a joke. Bar and restaurant staff are rude beyond belief and will make jokes at guests expense by deliberately mis-understanding what is being asked. Oddly they did not expect ANY English guests to be able to understand spoken spanish. They fail to realise that we have saved long and hard for our holidays and expect courtesy at the very least. They appear to view the guests as total inconveniences to their day of cigarette smoking and sneaking the odd drink every now and again.
Don't come here if you want a good holiday unless you are old and German. The chalets are BASIC, no phones as promised,TV
We have just returned from a week at this resort and were very disapointed. The place was said to be a 3* but quite honestly i would not rate it any more than a 1*. The food was discusting. The bungalow was very basic with ill fitting doors that you could see daylight through. When you have a shower you have to wait at least an hour before the next person can use it as they only have small boilers. The bungalows also have conjoining doors into your neighbours and we were quite surprised on arrival as were our neighbours themselves to find you can walk into the next property. As it was our neighbours were very nice people but this may not always be the case. The entertainment was terrible and mostly in German. You also have no inside seating so take a cloth with you as the table and chairs get very damp and are wet to sit on. On talking to a lot of english holiday makers whilst there none were very happy with the place or the food. If you are taking children please take snacks with you as the adults found it hard to eat the food let alone the kids. The only good thing about the holiday was the weather. But needless to say i will not be returning to this resort EVER! Mrs Hatherly Portsmouth
very cleen and quite. Mostly Germans staying here but they made us very welcome and were a great crowd to spend a holiday with. Plenty of shops, restrants and market nearby. Beach is a short bus ride away but we stayed by the pool a lot as it was peaceful and quite. We got sent here as our original bunglow on the Kiwi complex had problems and it was the best thing that could happen. We would love to go again and I am trying to find a place to book it. Loved the place and the company.
