In Search of a Fortress: I decided to attend a Mozart Concert and a dinner in the fortress for Friday evening. I gave myself lots of time to get to the Old Town, so that I could wander and explore my way to either walk up or take the Funicular (cable car). I did both actually - walked most of the way up in the afternoon, stopping ...

With destination and purpose yesterday, I walked down near Mirabell Palace where I knew I could find a good little tour company for getting the lay of the land in Salzburg and surrounds. ... never resist this dessert. Jesse and Jayden ordered the Salzburg speciality dessert, a Salzburg Nockerl, which is sort of a combination meringue and soufflé and served for two. It was so huge that even after the boys had had their fill, there was plenty left for Gary and I to sample. It was light, fluffy and delicious.

After a very long day, we headed back to our hotel for a good night’s sleep before our journey to ...

... bicycle tour. Although we were all very tired, this tour turned out to be a highlight of the day. We rode our bicycles around Salzburg and sang songs from the Sound of Music as we saw sights from the movie. This was an absolute blast. Again, Bella wanted to keep going, but we need to head back to Munich. Our day was so busy that we did not even have time for lunch, we just had some pretzels ...
