... the church was spectacular - every walkway was framed with beautiful and fragrant flowers and intricate signs. The church catacombs offered a fun break from the beauty as we climbed through narrow passageways and old staircases.

Merry (bright and sunny) Christmas, no snow in Salzburg but we had a beautiful day in the village of Faistenau. Our sleigh ride was a carriage ride , but it was beautiful just the same. We had a great driver who took us for a lovely drive through the mountains so we could see lots of snow, gave us a good history lesson on Salzburg, then dropped us back in Old Town ...

Our favourite lakes Fuschl See, Mondsee, Wolfgangsee are all nestled between higher mountains, which at times are covered in a light haze creating a special effect. We sit at the shore to have a drink taking in this incredible landscape.

Today we take a train to Salzburg, Austria. We make an early start and eat breakfast at Manuela's around 6:30am. We have the usual bread, meats and coffee. We say our goodbyes to Manuela and head to the U train station.We tkae the U train to a main sub station called Munich Ostbahnhof. Here we wait for the 7:50 train bound for Salzburg.
