... VERY cold and it got down to 7 degrees there. So I wore my new warm coat – tag still on it as I hadn’t taken it off yet. We had a nice light lunch in a pretty café. On to Salzburg. Our hotel, The Gasthof Junior is on a very main road – it seems like it will be very noisy but the room is clean and fine. We rested and then went for a walk in the local area. It was near there that we saw a statue of Kaiser Franz Josef. Then we went on the Gramsgrubenweg Trail which began by going through six tunnels through the mountain. There was an open view at the end of each tunnel. Some of the tunnels had exhibits in them. The longest was 250 yards long so it took us a ...

... journey back up the hill to the Mountain station, grabbed some peach iced tea and took the next cable car back down. The journey was beautiful (and much faster) going down, and the bonus was there were only a couple people in the cable car so we could walk around and catch all the amazing views on the journey back to the Middle station. We then had to wait about ten minutes for the second cable car back to the bottom. We called our cabbie and were back at Hallstatt by ...
