Our brand new rental car broke down just as we passed through Geneva. We were on the freeway for 4 1/2 hours before a tow truck came and got us. I'm not kidding. Budget had the worst customer service people answering their phones. They couldn't even arrange for another rental car, they say we could either spend the night in this little town for which they would only give us 79 Euro, which wouldn't ...

... out loud. As I said that, an Austrailian came out of nowehere from another trail. He laughed and said he was also confused about the dead end. We hiked to the top together, great view. That afternoon, being the hardcore that I am, I went rafting. Level four rapids- there are only five levels. It was a bit extreme for the first time but it was so much fun! I would definately do it again. It's about three times cheaper than it is in Canada ...

... parlementaire au parlement de Berne...on ne pensait pas pouvoir voir ca mais ce fut le cas. On a aussi visité la maison dEinstein, le musee of fine arts, la clock tower et le rosen garten. Ce fut encore une autre journee tres bien remplie. Nous sommes arrivees a Interlaken a 16h ce soir, et nous avons pris un funiculaire qui nous amenait a 1449m daltitude et de la jai vu les plus beaux paysages ...

... feeling sorry for myself was not going to help me at all - so I wandered around the city and took a cruise on one of the lakes. It is was spectacularly beautiful but I couldn't shake the feeling of missing home. Looking back now, there was so much more that Interlaken offers and I would want to explore the surrounding area and mountains more. I guess this fits in with the need to go back to Zermatt - somehow I think that a holiday in the mountains is going to be in the cards soon ;)

Sorry all.. it has been quite difficult to not only find the time to write but i am so disappointed that many of these cafes do let you download pictures without jumping through hoops! Well once in Switzerland i went handgliding through the swiss alps..which was beautiful.. i cant wait to see the pictures they took. my roommates in the hostel this ...

... And as with any true traveller, I've already started planning my next trip. I don't like the idea of the "final" entry. I could try to be deep or funny but that clearly hasn't worked in the past. I'll just say this: if I could find the words to truly describe how incredible this trip has been I would be the greatest writer in the world. I won't say anything else. The rest is just for me.

We didn't find a single Internet cafe in Paris, and the hotel business center was .92 Euros/minute, with a 4.5 Euro connection charge. We learned from the Concierge that high-speed access is about 15 Euros/month, so everyone has access at home - no market for Internet cafes. Here in Geneva, we can access the Web from the TV in our room for 15 Francs/hour.)
