... time we went to the Santa Maria Novella Church, which is opposite the train station, and has the same white marble facade as the Santa Croce Church. Now this is a church I would seriously recommend above many of the others. The artwork is superb and you can get up close to all of the paintings, tombs, frescos, plus you are allowed to sit in the church and drink in the sights. BAPTISTERY OF SAN GIOVANNI is the oldest building in the square.The bronze doors on the outside are copies of the originals, which are in the museum. The beautiful marble and amazing 13th-century mosaics on the dome illustrate Biblical stories. Really enjoyed the audio tour--good explanations.

... but I'm not into partying these days and simply don't want to go out with them. I prefer enjoying good food or an evening cocktail at sunset at a bar and having a good long discussion. But then again, if my 'ideal' man approached me, now that would be a different story...but if he really is my ideal man, I doubt he'll find me on his way to a party!!! But anyway on that topic only time will tell....for now I'm going to say a few prayers in the Monastery!!!

This trip was one of the last highlights of the trip. Sitting in our rented apartment in Firenze we were talking what should we do this day - go to warm steamed baths, rent Vespa and go to mountains, go Siena.. one thousand ideas, but on the way to the center to look what we can do we just got a sign - renting scooters!
