... to the train station. On our way back we stopped off at another village, Corniglia. This village seems a lot smaller than the others and to get to it you need to go up about three hundred plus stairs which are very steep. Neither of us could be bothered at this stage so decided just to take in the views while we waited for the next train. Back at La Spezia we had to wait about an hour for our train back ...

This trip was one of the last highlights of the trip. Sitting in our rented apartment in Firenze we were talking what should we do this day - go to warm steamed baths, rent Vespa and go to mountains, go Siena.. one thousand ideas, but on the way to the center to look what we can do we just got a sign - renting scooters! ... we haven't had proper red meat in a while (so keen for steak and three veg when we have a place!). Then very boringly we headed home to sleep as my cold and our big days in Rome caught up with us. Later that night we got dressed up and headed out for a group Tuscan Feast! The food was amazing, great bread, great pasta, a steak salad and yum dessert! What Luke enjoyed the most however was the free red wine... He consumed nearly two bottles by himself as was quite happy ...
