... I had my INR tested and Tim is busy catching up on videos. One thing we really want to do before we leave Florence is to walk the Cinque Terre, five villages in a remote chunk of the Italian Rivera. Because the weather looks great for the next few days and rainy after that, we plan to do the trip this week. We'll take the train to Pisa, then to La Spezia, then to ...

A travel blog entry by snitzel63 on Oct 05, 2014

Started our day at 8.30am for the hour drive out to San Gimignano which is a medieval town that sits up high in the Tuscan hills. After climbing the bell tower and Piazza Michelangelo my little legs weren't going to make it up the Duomo so I just enjoyed it from the outside, afterall I got to see the same view from the bell tower. I had enough of museums for the day so slowly wandered back window shopping until I got ...

We arrived in Florence around 5pm after our 4 hour train trip from Salerno. We had to walk less than 1km to get to our B&B but it was harder than we thought with all the people around, as we were staying right next to the Duomo (cathedral) which was a main attraction. We had been given codes to get into the building and our hotel room, and were told that we were staying in the 'tree room' which would be open. We found the tree room, and tried to get ...
