... in the right direction to our hotel trying to remember all the driving tips we were told, tight rights, long lefts, keep the white line beside the driver etc etc we made it to our hotel in one piece. Checked in and then went back outside to find our car only to find the valet guy had moved it and we couldn't remember what the car was so had to go through a series of keys and process of elimination until we found ours, it was a very funny moment. Our hotel resort ...

My trainer Timothy from Puerto Rico was pretty funny, as he would always describe situations that did not seem to be very prevalent. For instance, he was talking about guests who had no legs or one leg, and how we must handle them. He would always follow this with "Well that situation is one in a few...just one in a couple." I doubt ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Sonesta ES Suites Orlando
Very Disappointed
Upon our arrival to the StayBridge Hotel on International Drive, we entered the beautiful foyer and we were assisted by very friendly hotel employees. We were assigned the room and started to make our way up to our floor when the atmosphere started to become very dingy, dirty and unkept. We entered the room and the first thing that I noticed was the torn carpet at the entrance way. The sitting room was very small as was the kitchenette area. There was mold and mildew down the side of the fridge, cupboards and desk, and the counter top and cupboards were yellow with age. The couch was covered with stains. I then continued to inspect the bedrooms and bathrooms. After looking at the poor condition of the bathrooms, this just added to the list of our disappointments with this hotel suite. Our decision was made that we needed to cancel our reservation and look for a more suitable hotel for our family. The hotel employee was very understanding and responded to our disappointments by explaining to us that these suites need to be renovated.
Happy in the Tropics!
When my family stayed here in August of 2003, it was called Summerfield Suites. After doing exhaustive internet searches for a hotel that would make my whole family and a teenage friend happy, I picked this hotel.
Because of the price ($107 nt), I was a little nervous at what I would get. When we opened the door to our room, we all got big smiles on our faces. Nice sized rooms (the 2 bedroom one anyway), with lots of space for 5 people. They even had an extra little bed in one of the bedrooms, so all the teenagers had their own bed (Yea!). Bigger than usual kitchen. The next day we realized (we had arrived at night) that the elevators are glass and we loved the plam tree lined, inner courtyard views as we rode. It felt tropical! (My husband says to say that he felt very relaxed at this hotel.) The pool is a little small, but I have stayed at places where the pool is even smaller. There is a hot tub in one corner. EVERYONE there is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is typical continental fare. There is a little place to buy snacks, small cold items, for your room, and things like suntan lotion.
I think my son even went to a small game room. There are many places to walk to, but you will probably want a car if you plan to go north of Sand Lake Road or south of Pointe Orlando. This hotel is located on the 'quieter' end of International Drive. The only bad things? The area surrounding the pool is small, and (if we didn't get a good spot) we sometimes had to move our chairs to stay in the sun. Pool towels (which are exceptionally small) ran out quickly, and it could take awhile for the employees to replenish them. Finally, I wish the breakfast had more hot items. (You know - low carb!) We are going back in April, and I have a strong feeling that we will stay at this hotel again!
Pleasantly surprised
Of the low cost, suite hotels this is the best I've stayed in. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, and well equipped with VCR, CD, full kitchen incl. dishwaher. The place is clean. Maids did an excellent job, the rest of the staff was pleasant and helpful. I was in Orlando for a convention and the hotel is close to the convention center. Otherwise, the I-drive location is dull dull dull.
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful
We have just returned after 12 nights staying in the Staybridge Suites.Upon our arrival we were made most welcome The two bedroom Suites are excellent all clean and with fantastic facilities The staff are superb and remember you get free breakfast and three nights a week what they call Sundowners which is a small buffet I cannot recommend location more it is fantastic. The only problem is that the swimming pool is small and inthe shade alot of the day but it is heated Go to 'Wet and Wild' up the road but please stay here it is brilliant
Boring rooms
I just came back from my trip from Orlando and stayed here after viewing the comments on this page,I had high expecations but they turned out to be not what i expected. The beds where to small for 2 people(you could hardle move without waking up eachother)The rooms where very porely decorated(looked more like a bunker with all the white walls and a view paintings)The carpet was very dirty(always black socks or feet)The hallways where very dark(hardly any lights)The standard breakfast was also very poor(some bread and dry bagels and some fruit)The coffee tasted like dishwater to me.The rooms however had all the things you need to survive Orlando. The staff was indeed very friendly our cleaning lady was an angel we loved her.As a wyndham by request member i did,nt get al things you get as a member, but as with all those hotelprograms you don,t have to expect to much off it,mostly its fried air..hahaha well thats it you won,t see mee hear again,I,m going to homewood suites agian next time.
Sommerville Suites great family place to stay!
My family stayed at the Sommerfield Suites on International Drive, Orlando for several days. The staff was very helpful; the continental breakfast was great, the rooms are clean and bright, and the amenities are perfect for a family vacation! We were able to get a great internet deal and even were given a poolside room! We noticed that the staff is geared to making sure that alot of attention is given to the upkeep of the property. We were very pleased and would definitely stay here again. Only minutes to the Magic kingdom. Lots of family restaurants within a mile of the hotel. :)
Loved it!
I stayed at Summerfield suites in July 1996. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I am hoping to return soon. The prices were competitive and the rooms were immaculate. It was idealy situated on International Drive, within suitable driving distance of the all the major attractions i.e. Walt Disney.Although this was some time ago I can only presume that the Summerfield Suites has improved even more which makes me want to return even more. I want to say thankyou for the hospitality and the welcoming response I got from all members of staff. It was a truly memorable holiday.
Best Hotle
When i stayed here it was the best even the staff was fantastic. I would aalso recomend this hotle to everybody. its a great place to stay theres a restaurant over the road which you can eat as much as you like for a certain price.
Perfect for families
My family and i have stayed at this hotel and the Summerfield suites at LBV several times. You get a great deal for the money-a full kitchen(including a stove with an oven which is unusual in suite hotels),lots of space, lovely pools and the nicest, most customer service oriented staffs you will ever meet. These hotels are not fancy, but they are clean, convenient and will meet your needs economically and totally.
Great experience
Stayed at S.Suites on 1/19/2002 and had a terrific experience. Suite was well decorated, well organized,
bed was firm, sheets and cover seemed to be fairly new. Desk workers were very cordial and helpful with all requests.
