    ... shortly thereafter we were joined by Wayne Lori and Mesfin. We all then got on the very busy N road and proceeded to this hotel which is right on the highway. Tomorrow is a huge day with 3100 metres of total climb and a total ride of 118 Kms. Either Caroline is going to get a lot of business, or some of us will not be getting to the hotel until very late.     ... thing was that there was gafitti in the cave made by modern explorers, from the 1600's to the 1800's, who discovered the prehistoric paintings but did not realize that they were as old as they are.     ... and becomes only marginally easier towards the top, and all the while you have plenty of time look at the mountainous walls surrounding you and wonder just where in the heck the col could be. Of course it eventually appeared (after the road swung way over to what seemed like the other side of the valley), and for the first time this trip there were no others at the top when I arrived.
