    ... to and the terrain gave him a lot of inspiration for his paintings. I got to the house bright and early next day along with a group of other enthusiasts, paid for my ticket and we had the most fascinating guided tour of the house and his studio, and then the garden. Apparently he kept canaries in a big cage in the bedroom and crickets in a small one, because he liked the sounds. It would drive me mad and I suspect might go some way to explaining why he was barking. ...

    ... shortly thereafter we were joined by Wayne Lori and Mesfin. We all then got on the very busy N road and proceeded to this hotel which is right on the highway. Tomorrow is a huge day with 3100 metres of total climb and a total ride of 118 Kms. Either Caroline is going to get a lot of business, or some of us will not be getting to the hotel until very late.
