... still until closure the inmates had no toilets (only a bucket). We were shown the cells, kitchen, execution room (which we skipped) and solitary confinement. This put a whole new perspective on time out at home, which is how we explained it to the kids. A man on the tour asked our guide if he once worked here as a guard. His answer was that all the guides employed there are ex-guards or prisoners, but didn't tell us which one of those he was.

... love it so much! On my first time there I was amazed to see 4 kangaroos watching me from the bush, and fairly big golden orb weaving spiders hanging in between pretty much every tree. Hopefully I'll never get used to parrots being wild and all the different bird sounds going on outside -it's amazing. Galah parrots take me back to England which is great, they look like your average pigeon just with dyed hair. The trees ...
