    It turns out there are local people here collecting the guano (bat and bird droppings). They work by light from paraffin lamps. The guano is taken back to their local thriving community in sacks, where it is graded and sold for fertilizer. This was the voices we heard mixed in with the bird calls.     ... my way through my water supply.

    Reaching what seemed to be the top of another hill I gladly sank down on a bench in a shelter, with the lady of the Finnish couple, whilst her partner went on to check out the path to another waterfall. We chatted for a bit whilst I caught my breath and drank the last of my water. The sign said it was only another 1.5 km back to the headquarters so I should be able to make it back ok.
