Could've used more time on the ground in old PHL. Didn't really have the chance to meet up with any old friends, co-workers or family, other than my cousin Asher who was on call at his hospital all day Wednesday. But we still had a great time! On the train from Pittsburgh we had a twenty layover in Harrisburg, giving us just enough time to walk over to the state Capitol building and take a quick ...

      Big eats

A travel blog entry by skyloadblue on Sep 19, 2014

... we had a single starter to share and it was just about right for two hungry tourists. This was washed down by an excellent local beer - so the bad-beer stereotype = not true. Strangely the LA and NYC population is definitely not any fatter than Melbourne's. In fact they Are noticeably fit, lean and healthy. Maybe they only eat once a ...

On deck there is seating around the captains chair which would soon be known as the rum platform.First port of call was breakfast at Hoboken Harbour with Lynne and Alice who are some of Ais' US friends. Due to the incompetence of the ...

Today we woke nice and early (thanks to jet lag) and hit the streets to soak up the New York City atmosphere. First thing to note was that it was a lot cleaner than last night, good work early morning street cleaners. After being offered way too many bus tours we decided we knew best and looked to purchase week long metro cards. We had an egg, cheese n sausage bagel from Heisenbergs, with the strap ...

We have navigated jersey. Found parking. Sweat like crazy trying to figure out the fares and metro cards and now we have finally made it onto the subway. We are now headed under the Hudson River on a frigid subway ride. Best ride of the day because no one was on the ...
