... as you can see in the photos is world class. The stage is massive and the back stage area would be at least 5 times the stage space. The full fly tower was able to store our entire sound shell which was in the early stages of being flown back up into the ceiling as we packed down the stage. Truly state of the art and a pleasure to play in for our first gig on Chinese soil. The audience was a fair size (approx. 250) - they had paid between NZ$25 and ...

After 40 minutes if drawing pictures of ducks, making quacking noises and playing charades with a number of locals and restaurateurs we finally found what we had been looking for and feasted on Duck the proper way - pancakes, hoisin, leek and duck all carved by the table. After John arrived and had freshened up with some of the new tour shirts, we caught a 9:40pm taxi into find a park that had been described to me by he fellow we met on the plane. WE had hoped there to be a number of locals in there socialising, dancing and using the outside facilities so I had to try describe what I had seen when travelling to Kazakhstan a number of years ago, when looked after by a nice chinese airport worker for 4 hours near his ...

... our bags while he tried to renegotiate the price. He got down to "100" but t seemed easier to go get a normal taxi. Up until the point that we left in the taxi he kept asking if 100 would be OK. Considering it is about 20km I would have expected to pay up to 100 but the local information meant we would try pay the normal rate. 40 yuan equates to about AUD$7. Once we get going the first thing that is apparent is how ...
