... random! From there we went to see the Singapore Flyer which is like the London Eye but it was a bit pricey to go on it and anyway it was really overcast so we moved on to the river but it started lashing rain so we had to run for cover. Nadine had to go back to hostel for bus so we went with her - my legs were aching from all the walking so they needed a rest anyway. That evening we went to Orchard Road where all the ...
Singapore, Singapore sharor... to get our day packs, then caught the MRT down to Raffles Place station.<br><br>We walked around the back of the Fullerton Hotel and under the Esplanade Bridge to Merlion Park where we boarded a bumboat for a river cruise up to Robertson Quay and back. It was a nice, cool trip up the river after a small loop around Marina Bay near the river mouth. Took some pictures of ...
Singapore, Singapore tyga... s a head, there is some one there. I leap accross the terminal and throw my bag on the scale. Please please please don't be closed...<br><br>She looks up, smiles. She say's 'Lindsay, Kate, and Sam?'. I say that's us... 'Can I have your passports please?' YES... We made it! A race against time against all the odds. I loved it! Kate kinda did as well. Sam was a mess... 'Never again!' he said... 'never again!'<br><br>We're off to Penang.<br><br><br><br><br>
Singapore, Singapore kateandlindsay... best to reassure her as we made our way through the terminal to the MRT (Singapore's Underground Train Service). Unfortunately, this also has air-con which was fast becoming apparent that it was one of the culprits to Kate's disorder. Still, we all thought it would pass so played it down and carried on.....<br><br>The journey to the Hostel was short, taking about 25 minutes, and the walk to the hostel was only 2 minutes; although we ...
Singapore , Singapore kateandlindsay... and the classic "who-the-hell-are-you-and-why-are-you-h ere" looks. I especially am going to miss the things that make Singapore different to Britain such as the need for translators in wards, the mix of tropical and western diseases, the prolific and delicious Asian food, patients with highly complex names I can't pronounce, the computers-on-wheels and the pharmacists in toe. <br><br>I've learnt many things from this experience the most important being ...
Singapore, Singapore apoc100... a bit like how asian writing is angular compared to our smooth, loopy way of writing, he has a strong use of black and uses pink and particularly green to a stunning visual effect...ahem. From there we headed to the famous Raffles Hotel, the home of the Singapore Sling for, well, a Singapore Sling. Expensive and touristy it had to be done really. After that it was a bit of a walk down Orchard Street, dinner where Kelly threw a big strop because after over 4 months in Asia ...
Singapore, Singapore therobsblogs... of Singapore (Chinatown, Little India, Arab quarter). There's not a lot left and they are surrounded by skyscrapers but it was fun. We picked up a "Best of Singapore Food" pamphlet at the airport Tourist Info which was good reading for the many different food specialities and where to find them. We tried quite a few! <br><br>Singapore must have the best variety of food in the world ... and at the best prices. Dishes in the Hawker Centres ...
Singapore, Singapore aandl... about 30, but not too sunny, but everywhere indoors and the subway etc, has loads of air con, so all good.<br><br>Talking of the subway, is really very impressive, all the stations are huge, clean, and it's quick, as well as cheap - about 50p for a single journey! On the trains they have quite graphic videos though of like the Madrid, London, and Mumbai attacks, warning everyone to be vigilant, by telling people to ask strangers if they have a bomb in their bag - little bit over the top...<br>
Singapore, Singapore nickandsam88left the green jungles of Borneo for the concrete jungle of the city/country of s'pore. found our way to the hostel amongst the sea of people coming and going from the MRT; and then we arrived to our stop: little India. no kidding. leora feels she doesn't have to visit the real India now since she's experiencing it here. no cows in the ...
Singapore, Singapore domhnall... me so I've created a large list of questions along with criteria that they must possess. We already have a few candidates and will most likely hire for mid May. I think I am starting to miss home now. I miss the random conversations, seeing familiar faces, knowing what is going on with everyone that's important to me and simply just having my extended family around including my friends. Miss home because home is where your heart is.
