Flight was good, as well as you can be after 14 hours in a metal tube. Hammad Airport is a beautiful airport at the end of the city sticking out into the Persian Gulf (now called Arabian Gulf). Asif, our driver was waiting to shuttle us to our apt. We got our first look of Doha at night. It is lit up like The Vegas strip.

Luckily we got a great taxi driver (140km/h+ down Emirates Road only slowing down for the speed cameras) and he had us at DXB Terminal 1 just inside an hour and costing almost exactly the amount of dirham we had left so Simon emptied his whole wallet into his hands (he got about $2aud tip!) and we rushed into the airport.

Despite having left home over 30 hours ago as I type this on the flight, we are not feeling too bad right now, although it is a little disorienting not seeing daylight for that long.
