... lighthouse - on Point Sur but sadly all the area was a naval base and although it looked like it wasn't being used you couldn't get to the headland and the light.
The road swings inland and passes through the strung out tourist village of Big Sur, before returning to the coast again.

... to see stuff we will never get to see again. The 3 that stand out was "jellyfish", "wild duck cluster", "7 sisters". He showed us where the northern cross was in 3 stars triangle. Pointed out the Goat and Capricorn. We were up there a couple of hours looking thru scopes. Guess they come out here once a month to use that mound. Really cool!
10/9/13....Moving day! Going to go up further north and see the ...
... Bay. We've picked an absolutely beautiful park to stay, just seconds from the ocean and a short walk into town, where you have all the seafood restaurants and souvenir shops you could want. We spied otters and seals and plenty of seagulls on our stroll and took some long exposure shots of the bay at dusk on our way back.
Tomorrow we are going to try and clear some distance and hit up Big Sur via Hearst Castle.
