Finding my roots in Norway
... they have.
Halgrim took us to his home, where he showed us some family pictures and a picture of he and his wife in their Norwegian National costumes. She was wearing the head dress of the Hallingdal area and a beautiful bunad and apron. His wife had passed away earlier this year after 63 years of marriage. Also in the house, he showed us a china hutch that she had hand painted with the rosemailing decorative designs along with some ceramic ...
Climbing up Hardangervidda in a school bus
... The rain just put a damper on any exploration I may have enjoyed during the evening.

I left Oslo on an 8 a.m train and traveled through city scape for an hour. Then - the countryside awaited. Lake after lake after lake......then wildflowers and mountains....then SNOW! Not kidding. End of May - think the elevation was maybe 3K-4K feet. No leaves on trees......ice ...
