Sunday was the final day of Les Etoiles de Pau, and what a great day for New Zealand it was (winning 1st and 2nd, with Michael Jung - Rep. Germany, Olympic Gold Medalist, European Champion and World Champion - at 3rd). After the competition, I was too exhausted to wait for a proper dinner in a restaurant so I ate at McD's, watched movies on my computer, and slepted enough to recharge my battery for surgery day at Pau on ...

So Christmas cake made, jams, chutneys, fresh tomato sauce, beetroot pickled, hazelnuts, sloes, juniper berries, blackberries and raspberries picked and stored. Chestnut gathering this weekend weather permitting, in between painting the hall stairs and landing and taking cuttings. I am contemplating picking rosehips and making syrup ...

... cafes, hotels and the usual shops selling expensive tat. As it was lunch time we stopped at a charming little bar for local ham, 2 eggs, local cheese, salad and chips. Not bad for 9 Euros !

After lunch we went back down to Argeles for Seonaids hair appointment and the hairdresser did a wonderful cut which really suits Seonaid.

Tomorrow, we start topack up for Sundays journey into Spain,

... the most of the good weather and getting a second cut of hay off the fields. The field next to the chicken run was cut the other day and when it came to baling, there was quite a din from the chickens as the baler went past. Stefan said he could just imagine the hens looking in astonishment at the machine and then seeing it 'lay ‘ a bale and thinking" Sacrebleu! I bet that hurt!"

I enjoyed going back to Cardiff and being at the engagement party ...
