    ... distinctive architectural character is protected. Today the population is about 13,000. The town has lots of charm.

    After Alamos we drove to where we are now, San Carlos. It was our first and is our last camping spot in Mexico. We watched about 4 big rigs head out of the campground this morning, and it looks like we will be joining them tomorrow, sad but true.

    ... This is how we drove for quite awhile, and with an elastic and pen set up around the steering wheel, you did not even have to hold the switch. This was not going to be the best when we got off the interstate and onto two way roads

    ... We arrived in San Carlos and immediately found a beach. We got in our suits and jumped in! Within minutes we made friends with the locals. They were drawn to Lola and Mabel and out pink tones. We quickly found out we we already assumed to be true anyway....Mexico is like any other country.     Another friend here is a Birder with experience all over the world. He took a group of us today and we saw at least 14 bird species indigenous to Sonora MX.
