Praia da Falesia and Faro

We made it to Faro, our last stop on the southern shore of Algarve. Trying to avoid the concrete nightmare and crowds of Albufeira beaches, we drove slightly to the east to reach a 3km stretch of white sand called Praia da Falesia. Still pretty busy, but as people were spread out it wasn't so bad, and the water was the warmest so far (maybe ...

We were in need of a bathroom stop and there was only one we knew of so that is where we went. What an adventure. The toilets had been designed without thought to an added human in the stall. Climbing on top of the toilet bowl allowed the door to be ...

... which I skipped on my 2008 trip. It's nighttime when I arrive, so I sincerely hope I'll find some reasonably lodging. After a kind of frustrating experience in Huelva, Tavira is love at first sight. The bus station is right on a river, with a riverwalk and charming whitewashed red tiled houses--and plenty of cozy little hotels. I soon find one within range, but opt to keep looking in case I find something cheaper. I enjoy ...
