... Quite an experience, the train was packed, the doors will not close because of the people hanging out of them, these are regular commuters and we complain about our rail system! They could not get on the roof because it was too slippery, but on the previous train they were standing on the walkways of the diesel locomotive.

Did my pleading and presented my documents ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina pearcy... and I got nauseous towards the end but otherwise we were fine, although no-one slept for long. Flying over what I think was Chile was absolutely amazing, these snow-capped mountains in absolutely un-touched areas, and then arid hills with incredibly long, straight roads going from no-where to no-where.

We arrived at the airport and immediately had a chance to practise our Spanish chatting to Aerolineas Argentinas about getting ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina avi4tammy... own way and I wasn't missing this opportunity for any BA biatch with attitude! I stepped outside the store, gave instructions to Cara on how to pose (as Gaeilge) and got snap happy! However, I forgot to turn off the flash (I said they dont teach us everything in Trinity) and as a result we were booted! I hadn't been told off like this in a while, and i didn't like it, thats for sure! En route back to the hostel, some of the guys went shopping in Palermo but i decided to ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina sharkenj... in 2006 in Sydney, but of course couldn´t remember them well so was happy to view them again... This too was easier said than done. For some strange reason we assumed that we could find them without really knowing where in the city they actually were, and after two hours of walking (in what turned out to be the complete opposite direction!) we gave up on our search, passing by the Botanical Gardens (which provide a home to what looks and smells like ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina becstar26... buses in London, line 19, you know the ones you can hop on and off as they ooze down Oxford Street. It was so much fun! Check it out! My host, Ramiro, whom I contacted through couchsurf was really great. He gave me the keys, a mobile to use, explained the layout of the city and places to go ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina sinbadniz... gurning like a loon.

Over the course of Carnaval, we thwarted further pickpocketing attempts several times with the aid of zipped pockets and, I guess, sensitive backsides. These pathetic episodes verged on the comical. One evening I grabbed the wandering hand of the would-be thief and for a second or two danced with him in the crowds, before stating in the universal language of anger that he should make himself scarce. More seriously, two Brazilian girls we met had twice stood ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina deaworldwide... this huge HUGE cemetary filled with the who´s who of argentina. the graves (if you could even call them that), or let´s call them monuments and ¨homes¨for the deceased is like nothing you would ever imagine... it´s really strange and strangely cool at the same time. these ¨homes¨house coffins, some even have staircases that lead down.. to where, we don´t know. the outsides of these structures are all made of stone... granite or marble or something to that effect. furthermore ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina euniceandbyoung... in a mansion where Evita's foundation once housed single mothers with children. The museum follow Evita from childhood to her ascension to first lady and to her death from cancer. There are lots of her clothes displayed along with quotes and historical photos. We finished the day with a walk in the Palermo Soho neighborhood, posing with the creative murals and graffiti bringing a smile to our faces. Next stop: Iguazu Falls!
Buenos Aires, Argentina smajsak... house in Palermo Viejo. We ordered 3 steaks and were promtly set straight by our freindly waiter, the steaks are min 1kg each! So we settled on 1kg Bife De Chorizo (rib eye) and 1 kg veinte y vuelta (barely cooked) and a superb bottle of Argentinian Malbec. The reputation of the Argentinian steak house is well deserved, we ate so much we had to retire early to the hotel with the meat sweats! Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were a fairly quiet affair for us, Paco ...
