... 2k behind us, and I couldn't hold his wheel. Not a problem ... Fat boy section was coming up ... I love these downhills. Fell in behind the group for the last bit of the climb, oh it's nice drafting in a large pack. Once the downhill started, having to use my brakes a bit to much behind folks, saw some clear rode in a windy section,cut the corner to the guard rail on a left hander and was gone off the front like a rocket ... Did I tell you I like these downhills. ...

... was open to the public at that time, so it was fun to be able to get inside this time, although photography was not allowed. It was interesting to see how the aristocracy lived!

We had plenty of time to explore the incredible gardens, which are absolutely spectacular, and considered among the best in Europe. Beautifully manicured, the gardens are small by some standards. It was a thrill to see them.

... have lunch at Quinta da Avessada, a beautiful century-old winery. Some of the passengers had disembarked early in order to get there for the wine-stomping, but we stayed on board. After an outdoor reception with wine and snacks, we were treated to a lovely lunch inside. The musicians continued to serenade us with the lively Portuguese tunes through lunch.
