I have to say i am very impressed with the scenery we are getting to see on our rides. Today was a fairly easy day, just one climb, We covered 90k, in 3:16 of riding time, with and average speed of 27.55. :) maxed out at 62 ... Myself and another rider Neil set out about 15 minutes before everyone else (Leslie and Ann hoped a ride to the summit of today's climb) . The call for less travelling and more beach was calling. Sweeter than a whole Wynne Christmas of port with all of Grandmas soaked raisins in between, we rolled out of the valley heading south for the beaches of Algarve with a pit stop of Coimbra and Lisbon in between. Or so we ...

... magic of Casa Cimera is the setting. There is evidence that wine has been grown in the Douro for 2,000 years. In 1756 it became the first wine area in the world to introduce demarkation by region. In 2001 it was listed as a World Heritage site because of the history of winemaking, and the cultural landscape of outstanding beauty - the terraces, the quintas (wineries), villages and roads. It is hard to describe but hopefully some of Clive's ...
