From Porto to Lisbon
... in the distance. We only had about an hour of daylight to walk around, but really we didn't need much more time. It is super small, but very cute and quaint. We climbed up the castle wall surrounding the village and you could see the whole town. Plus it was beautiful with the sun setting and there was mist hoovering on the fields around us because of the earlier rain. It was perfect timing on our part. A great stop!

Here, in Estoril and Cascais, just outside of Lisbon - the guide book described this 'gorgeous' coastline as the playground for monarchy and fading countesses who just used the beach for tanning themselves and didn't swim because the water was too polluted. Atlantic Ocean
... it was really popular so we didn't even stop to ask. We walked around the top of the castle wall and drove off to another little village by the sea that has lovely little striped tents that one can rent on the beach. By the way the beach had a blue flag which means the water is clean enough to swim. Very polluted along this coast.
