... on board. Just before docking in Mallorca, we found out that the ban on bringing alcohol applies only to spirits so we stocked up. Price difference – a bottle of Spanish red we paid $39 for last night, we bought duty free for $9 in Mallorca. This will help the budget significantly.
Dinner was smart casual – again we joined some others for dinner and after dinner we headed for the theatre where we saw ...
And at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkita... br>We ended up going to a large club in the center of the city. It was probably the largest club that I've ever seen. This place was huge! I ended up dancing with the girls until about 4 am when I was beginning to get very sleepy and returned to the yacht. I didn’t bring my cell phone and when I got back the passarelle was raised up to prevent anyone from getting aboard. There is always a Duty Officer on duty and part of their job to welcome and ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourneyWe arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourney... us off and then returned to the yacht go continue on their way. Usually the crew will setup an area on the beach with a canopy, beverages, and a few lounge chairs, but since none of that would fit on the heli, it was just us a change of close, beach towels a few drinks and sunscreen.
We weren’t nearly as hyper on the beach today as we were in Formentera. Today, everyone just strolled around the ...
... from Germany. Good music, dancing starts up. We leave at 1:30 to catch the last bus. I am relying on my roommate who is totally confident about the schedule. Well, we wait with others but find out the last bus left awhile back. We need to find a cab which is difficult since everyone is trying to get to a bar/club somewhere. We finally get one. A late night by my standards but just starting to get going. My back could not take any more.
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... afternoon at the beach back in Playa de Palma. It is so nice to have warm weather with sun. Quite a contrast from Scandinavia. This is an area full of German tourists. Mostly Spring break atmosphere. Apparently it is dominated by package deals. I have seen very few other nationalities here. As an indication, at the airport, Air Berlin dominated the airlines (even though this is Spain it is not Iberia or SpanAir).
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... up at me and stare. I ask in Spanish if anyone is working there. No reply. My Spanish can’t be that bad. Someone finally shows me a buzzer at the entrance. It turns out that there is a large group of mentally challenged people from France. The person working at the hostel says that there is a bed available. Yeah! It is $22 including breakfast. It is also 2 blocks from the beach in the main beach area, Playa de Palma.
There is only 1 guy in the room during my stay ...
... along, one thing in his mind, one goal, one aim for the day, Pedro headed straight to the big one. The aqua blue kamikaze. 100 feet high, the width of your body, shooting people out like cannonballs. Up the stairs he lept. It was early, so the queues hadn't formed yet. There was no time for anticipation. Straight onto the kamikaze. Sitting astride the slide looking down on the miniature people at the foot. Listening to the shouts from the Band ...
Magalluf, Spain pdollo21i visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!
needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!
I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
