Lima, Peru pamericas... as I did with the barbecue sauce as well) – some sort of peruvian cookies instead of graham crackers and kebab sticks instead of coat hangers – but all in all it seemed to be pretty realistic. The interesting thing was trying to find stuff for a fire – I hadn’t really planned on that part. Anyway, we managed to find stuff that would burn and the smores were a HUGE hit. Some were burned, but everyone eventually got the science ...
Lima, Peru forbes.thompson... a wonderful dinner by Allison's parents in honor of her 21st birthday at this place called Las Brujas de Cachiche. I got a great 'stew' of white beans/rice and and two incredibly tender portions of baby goat, and (on the house) received probably the best pisco sour that I've had in Lima. They also gave us a drink made of fish and seafood that was very reminiscent of Manhattan clam chowder, which they told us would give us enough ...
Lima, Lima, Peru mpbezold... and sand dunes.
We get near to the site but it is not well marked and end up in a car park with a long walk to the site. There is a Peruvian and a Norwegian in the car park, the Peruvian suggests we ride up the footpath rather than leave the bikes, we don´t need telling twice.
We meet up with them again at the site and make a group, it is 11 Soles to get in but you must have a guide, another 11 Soles each. For a group it is 11 each plus 20 Soles for ...

Lima, Peru mission_peru2Arrived safely in Lima at about 5am today after a round 24hrs of travelling. Its a long way from Preston.
In Chicago, I found an airport pharmacist that sold melatonin over the counter - perfectly legal in the US but not available in the UK. Its meant to reset your body clock and get rid of jet lag faster... Jet lag coming out here is fine but going back in a month or so will be hellish (its always much worse going east). Can anyone ...
Lima, Lima, Peru choosechu... the action thriller they are playing on the TVs. During the day, the landscape usually speaks for itself. An interesting book can also make the time fly by. The current book I´m reading is Ted Simon´s ¨Jupiter´s Travels¨ an auto-biography of an English journalist who rides his motorcycle around the world in the mid 1970´s. The entire journey takes the man 4 years to complete, and makes my little jaunt seem like a long, easy, weekend ...
Lima, Peru mhutto... sap who is sandal-less can see them. DING!! its not MY bag. I cracked a zipper and saw socks that weren´t mine! ****! I just opened someone else´s bag. (it has been a lonnnng day at this point) Sheepishly, I returned the exact-same-backpack to the carousel and 30 seconds later, saw mine coming down with the bright red strap I put around it. Right. On my sheepish trip back to the carousel with the first bag, these two guys were giving me a hard time about this ...
Lima, Peru kyakawenaThe food speciality of Lima is chiviche, fish and shell fish and if your lucky it might not kill you. I got away lightly with food poisioning! What I saw of Lima, beyond the bathroom of the hotel, particulary the area of Barranco, was lovely with lots of old colonial buildings, even the supermarket looked posh. Mable x Ok so what did Mac think of Lima.... well it was not greatly aided by the fact he ...
Lima, Peru easton-martin... actually did hear from her again... Anyway, after they had left, I gave up on my guidebook and watched the second instalment of the “Lord of the Rings” in Spanish which by then was showing on the TV. I had forgotten how good it was. At the same time I noticed I was starting to find it easier to pick up and recognise more Spanish words.

Soon enough I was on the bus which would take 8 hours overnight from Lima to Huaraz ...
