Sol Cala d'Or Apartamentos

I haven't posted in a few days because my roommates and I went to Mallorca last weekend. Mallorca is an island off the coast of Spain and about a 50 minute plane ride from Barcelona. The trip was relatively last minute but we (Meg, Laura, Jordan, and me) booked it with a group of guys from Wake that most of us were not super close friends with. It ended up being a great decision. The island of Mallorca itself is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. It is 120 miles across in 1 ...
... at each port, so the staff are really kept busy. We certainly don't begrudge paying our tips for them!! We are back at sea, heading for Sardinia. It's a bit rough, so I might not make it to dinner tonight. I can assure you though, I won't be food deprived! Fortunately we again dock early tomorrow, so I'll be up and at 'em again once we've arrived. So, we send you all our love. We're having a great time, sleeping well at night! God bless, Lyn and ...
... shops and restaurants, and nice buildings. Best of all was Fornells, mentioned to us by a Spanish friend, and a good recommendation. Very unspoiled, traditional, and great fish restaurants.
The whole of Menorca is a Unesco World Heritage site, so it is amazingly quiet, a lot of agriculture, and very green.
Still prefer Mallorca, but will visit the island (and that hotel!) again. The ferry was good too, reliable and handier for us since it goes from ...
... cathedrals and works of art all within walking distance.
The island looks small, but every bit big enough to spend a whole week on in order to explore the various small cities. Right off the coast of Mallorca is Ibiza, Spain, considered the #1 party spot in the world...of course, we will work that into the next trip when we return!
One day at sea...and then our last stop is Barcelona!!!
... e followed by a Paella and Lemon Chicken, yoghurt slice with fruit and ice cream with chocolate tart. From there we drove to El Prat Airport to put the car into storage for a week while we flew to Palma Mallorca for a much deserved holiday with my sister, brother in law, Sonja and Roberto. We left El Prat Airport (Barcelona) with Ryan Air on time and arrived 10 minutes early into Palma. Even though it was a cheap flight with a budget Airline and no ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Sol Cala d'Or Apartamentos Santanyi
Just back from week's stay at Sol Cala Dor and had excellent stay.
Great Value for money - very happy
Very happy with my weeks stay at these apartments. For the money paid it was excellent value for money. Theres plenty to do in Cala D'or, lots of shops and plenty of places to eat and is only a short walk to the beach. Reception staff friendly and helpful and could speak very good english, room was cleaned 3 times during my stay, towels changed too. Kitchen basic but all you need, air con is wonderful, a life saver!!!! Would defo consider returning.
If you want to stay in a resort that's great value for money, in a great location and filled with friendly & helpful staff then this is the place for you!!! When we arrived at the Sol Cala D Or apartments we were convinced that we were in the wrong place as it was over and above all expectations that we had!!! The pool area was clean and there was more than enough space and the fact that you had to pay 2 euros a day for a sun lounger stopped the old "leave your towel on the same bed for the whole holiday" syndrome!!! In general the resort is well maintained and I feel that it's general write up on all websites is fair and truthful. Our room was cleaned twice in the week that we were there although it stated that it will only be serviced once so that was a bonus!!! We didn't really use the small but functional kitchenette but it was clean and had everything that you would need to prepare a simple meal, microwaves if needed are available to rent for the time you are there. The beach is just a 3 minute stroll maximum and there are a mass of bars and restaurants nearby - all with a 12am cut off point for loud music.
first off the location of the apartments was fantastic, very close to everything and had many restaurants just a stone throw away. On our first day we arrived in the morning and there was a problem straight away, we were told that we did not have the correct papers when we had printed every page off that had anything to do with the hotel, after 15 minutes on the phone she decided that the form we had shown first was the correct one. So in to our apartment we go, reasonable size, bedding was very damp. After that everything was fine for a few days, until something went missing from our room, we reported it to the reception and we were laughed at at told its not there responsibility and we have to go the local police station (20 minute drive). The next day we decided to use the air con, which we had to turn off after 30 seconds because we could not hear the tv...Cleaners came when they please, we asked once of twice for fresh sheets and were told "tomorrow" but we really waited 3 days. Also there was only ever enough hot water for 1 shower and after that it was to cold to clean yourself. We had to call the handy man out on several occations beacuse the electricity liked to turn itself off from time to time. All in all perfect location but i do not recommend the sol cala dor and i will not be going there again next year.
Value for money and great location
As the reviews from before, the accomodation is still clean and spacious, staff friendly and the apartments well located in Cala D'or. They're still charging €2 a day per sun bed but that's nothing compared to the beach, where it's €11.60 for 2 beds and umbrella!
Surrounded by good restaurants and bars, but best in the pedestrian area. Try Porto Pedro for good seafood (€10 taxi). Try Bar Cream on Cala Toni in the pedestrian area for good range of drinks, good music and really friendly owners, Bill & Val.
Overall a great choice for location and quality at a decent price.
Really Good, Ace Staff!!!
I went to cala dor on a second holiday with my boyfriends mum and sister and friend. On a arrivial staff were very friendly and rep was very helpful.
Room was nice and clean, we were on bottom floor so a 2 second walk to the pool!! Only downside to the pool as some1 else had said is it is 2 euros and u have to wait and have ur space basically marked out at 8am!
Bar area was lovely, entertainment at night was ok went a few times but liked going into town a bit more! Bar staff were lovely right characters!!
Over all sol cala dor is worth the money and i would defo go again!!!
We spent two weeks in these apartments. The grounds and public areas were very well maintained everyday and the staff very friendly and helpful.
We have just come back from a 1 week stay at these apts. They were really nice, and very clean. They were in a great location. They staff were very helpful and the food excellent at the poolside bar. The pool was clean and it was no bother getting sunbeds, which you had to pay for, but it stopped folk being greedy!
I would recommend these apts to anyone, they are close to shops, many restaurants, fun parks for the kids, only a short walk to the beach, close to bus stops to Palma etc there are also pubs nearby too.
Inside the apts there is a small bar/restaurant with friendly staff, a large swimming pool (with kids area). Lifts and 24hr reception service.
