Frank did this leg of the tour without out me while I stayed back in Massachusetts getting the Nuggets (a.k.a. Napali and Olive) ready for their extended stay with Grandpa and Oma, and trying to take care of other logistics like getting a Russian Visa. Operative word was trying. I'll have to cut my stay in Russia later in the Spring to only 4 weeks …
Turku, Finland. 8th to 12th.
This might be my last week of peace before I start the next leg of my journey, which will involve the intrepid tours through some of the eastern countries. So while I can I've been soaking up the quiet city of Turku and taking it easy. I'm on holidays and I'm bloody loving it.

I thought I was doing quite well but 4 hours into the trip we hit some rough water and I started to get sea sick. We went up onto the deck but it was so cold and windy! We found a seat next to a window in the cafeteria which was much better.
We made it off the ferry and to our campsite pretty easily. And were relieved to get to bed. It had been a very long day!

Managed to find a b&b in Paddington and one in Cardiff as well with very nice prices and excellent reviews on the booking.com app. Tiny little hotels that aren't going to be giving me any Radisson points (or any other regular customer points, for that matter) but will hopefully offer clean and comfortable rooms and good breakfasts. That's what counts. Now ...
... things that I did really want to be open, this was not one of them. Even though we had only been in Europe for a very short period of time, I was already having “not another f**king church again” syndrome. I think anyone that has been to any country in Europe has had one or many of these moments and they are not just church exclusive, you can have these moments in art galleries, museums and even little dainty cupcake stores.
