Rome - The Eternal City
... feels like an open air museum. Nearly at every other corner you will run into an old ruin, pillar, monument and church. After a pizza for lunch we continued our exploration and visited the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II which was built to honour Victor Emmanuel (sounds logically, doesn’t it), the first king of a unified Italy. Built in 1885, it’s probably the most "smack-in-your-face" building in Rom (see pictures). ...
Day 8
... and waited for our tour to begin. Thank goodness I had my student card, I saved 7 euro. Our tour guide was named Jeanette and she led us over to the Vatican museums. The museums have quite the collection, mostly because the Vatican is such an old city. At one time, any ruins/ art found in Rome became the property of the Vatican. Also, the Vatican pays no utilities due to the fact that it generates a lot of revenue for Rome. ...
Vers Rome
... la basilique est superbe et unique avec ses façades peintes. On pousse jusqu'au pont sur l' Arno. C'est chouette.
La ballade terminée on tente d'appeler un camping à Rome, (on espère que le temps soit plus clément dans le sud). Il y a de place, allez on file 3 heures de route , on y sera à 23 h 00 même pas peur !!!!
