Some will stand in the middle of the lanes to reach both drivers of the traffic. It also seems the place to catch a ride, or just watch traffic as the continuing circus of vehicles and unaware drivers parade by. Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico jdswedOn to Puerto Arista, a relative metropolis, plenty of shops, some of them even open! Out of high season seaside towns tend to only fully open at weekends when the city dwelling Mexican hordes descend. Found a nice little place near a smelly lagoon and not far from the beach, but sadly, as often happens in Mexico, the workers started banging around at 6am - because it´s really hot later, they start work early but with no concern for their sleeping clients.
Puerto Arista, Chiapas, Mexico ccchrissieJust a stop over in this small town, where a Saturday night is spent drinking until falling asleep in the streets. It was quite funny arriving there so late, everyone just coming to us so drunk and talking to us and then after one hour seeing them sleeping outside. This time has not much apart from good hot dogs, we went to eat them at a stand where they were showing a Mexican boxing game, and i had to stasy the whole 11 rounds and cheer up with the locals...

After the tour and lunch our little convoy of 3 headed through the city of Tuxla Guiterrez and after ...

Then we had to find Galacion´s sister, but he had no idea where she was and she wasn´t answering the phone. So we called back to the States to Javier for him to call Marilu and then we did finally find them. We slept there that night.

Sometimes I am completely bewildered at how lucky I am, at how easy my life is, at the amount of abundance, love and joy I always seems to encounter...there are members of my own family who have lives with so much more pain, trials and tribulations, not to mention the millions of people in this world who are barely surviving, lacking water, food, shelter, and ...
