... I wish we had gone up this way! (A tip for anyone else going)

We went and had some amazing pad thai's in the evening and then watched more fire shows. There are so many Chinese people everywhere!! They absolutely love it here and seem to come with their families which was strange, as apart from them it was mostly full of youngsters with their alcohol filled buckets or travellers like us.

Lesson learnt: Don't jump fire when drunk!

... the bungalow. I didn't think it was possible, but the music is louder than the night before. I pop a pill and start to read to help get tired enough to not hear the walls shaking from the bass. Once we got to the beach we explored the area for a bit and then were served rice and curry and barbecue chicken for a late night ...

... name are the drawings on the cave walls inside. They depict Viking style long boats even though the Vikings did not get anywhere near Asia so it remains a mystery who these people were who stayed there. The cave is now populated by sea gypsies who farm the birds nests from the cliffs around. The nests command a high price in the birds nest soup market which is a delicacy in Asia and reportedly they farm around 10 million euros worth of produce over a six month period every year! ...

It's hot, sticky and humid - the worst possible climate for my creeping arthritis so why am I here in Krabi and not in the Atacama desert where it hasn't rained more than a halfpenny of spit for more than a hundred years? We have met a wonderfully mixed bunch of people at Baan To guest house. Today I discussed the spectre of Russian intervention with two girls from Riga in Latvia who visibly shuddered at the thought of another Crimea type invasion in their country. I moved ...
