... was here a few months back. She recommended we go and check it out and we were glad we did. It was a beautiful long stretch of white sand, with crystal clear water ( and deep!) swarming with bright coloured fish. The walk to the beach was beautiful (and long) but it was well worth it. We took our first longtail boat back to the pier and booked a half day trip to Maya beach with our hotel. Maya beach is where the movie "the beach" was filmed. You know, that really stupid movie ...

Other than the German guy who'd climbed even higher than Josh and ran up to the edge and hurled himself over... Tumbling down into the ocean. Miraculously, he managed to enter the water safely... No idea how that happened! PHEW. Whilst the others swam back to the boat, we were now fully ...

Felt better this morning and managed a cheese and ham toastie, so figured I was ok to go exploring! I had a look at the leaflets in the hostel, and ended up booking an all day boat trip tomorrow with a BBQ on the beach and visiting 7 of the islands, so that should be fun! Then decided to find a good local beach to just sit and read (I've started Dracula) so asked the lady at the hostel where ...

... part with huge rock faces surrounding it and people had made rock structures like inuksuks all over. Unfortunately, we had to swim to the island so no pictures. I can not wait until my Go Pro camera arrives! I have one coming with a friend from home. The blog is going to get much more exciting after that ;) We headed to another island and had some more time for snorkelling and swimming. The water was so warm and beautiful, I think I am going to find it very hard ...
