Ok, but the doorman had an attitude
Most of the reviews about this hotel are spot on. The room was very nice, especially the bathroom, and the food at the restaurant is expensive, but good. The bar is a bit cramped, and there's no place just to get a cup of coffee to go, but I chalk that up to the French not being an "eat and run" culture. I would have given this hotel a better rating, but as I was leaving, I insisted on putting my extremely heavy luggage in the back of the cab. The doorman was put off by this and was saying some "interesting" things to me in French (obviously assuming I did not know what he was saying)through the window of the cab as I departed.
Luxury business class
I stayed here recently on business - paid EUR185 including breakfast. There are no tea and coffee facilities, but they deliver this within 15 minutes free as with all other room service. I had excellent room service breakfast for no extra charge. The bathroom is amazing - top end toiletries and a separate bath and shower. Room was very clean. Internet in room is excellent, but business facilities were average. The gym and sauna/steam is small and disappointing as with most of the public areas. The bar was nice, but cramped. You can't fault it for business - very efficient, super polite service and good value. This is about an hour's drive from CDG airport and it is about a 10 minute walk to most of the offices/metro in La Defense.
Lovely......but could have been nearer
This hotel was very clean, our room was one of the best in the hotel as it was on the corner of the building giving us a HUGE bathroom....which is always nice. The only problem we found was that you have to go over a bridge to get to the metro, which in the pouring rain was a bit annoying, the location is a bit too far away and would even have been better if it was on the other side of the bridge! The hotel was nice and clean, if a bit quiet, and was nicely decorated, would def return here!
Just loved it
We stayed 3 nights in october 2004 and thought that it was excellent, the hotel is clean modern and the rooms are good with great bathrooms. Short walk to the metro was no problem and the plaza just over the walk bridge behind the motel and beside the metro station had good shopping and some nice resturants and the city centre is only 10-15 mins away by train. I would go back again ...no problem.
We stayed at this hotel Sept. 19-22, 2004. We loved the room. Well kept room, great bathroom, everything modern, clean, they pampered us like a five star hotel. The only negative comment would the hotel is a good walking distance from the metro, but the hotel is worth the walk. Their is a mall located next to the metro exit with lots of restaurents in it. We paid with tax on priceline $ 203 a night.
Nice room, bad location
We stayed in the Sofitel Grande Arche for 3 nights as part of a tour group. The room itself is very nice. Decor done in modern chic style - very slick.
The bathroom was one of the nicest I've seen (even compared to 5-star places).
The downside is the location. La Defense is an modern office park with little/no nightlife or any other interest to a tourist. Also, it's not an upscale neighborhood. The local residences seem to be lower-middle class.
The metro station is about a 5 minute way away and then it's a quick 15 minute metro ride to downtown. For me, being closer to the action is more important then a nicer room.
I stayed here on business as it near Levallois-Perret, and I thought it was super, modern and efficient, with the best bathroom I've seen, an excellent business hotel.
Excellent value for money. We went to Paris for Valentines weekend and struggled to get accomodation. The location was fine, only ten minutes in metro from centre. The hotel was very clean and new.
Wonderful, great location
We enjoyed this hotel so much. Location is great and it is clean, nice, breakfast was very complete and delicious. I would definitely reccomend it....
Nice modern hotel
Good facilities. The rooms are ok, if a little small. I got a free upgrade to a suite once, which was fantastic. Staff are ok, although not quite up to the standard of the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe. Location is great if you're based at La Defense, or somewhere on the RER, but not great if you're looking to be near the city centre. Overall, a good hotel.

We arrived in Paris very early on Friday morning (our flight landed at 05:30am). We made our way to the Metro ticket office and managed to decipher how best to but tickets and where to catch the train to get to our hotel. We dropped out luggage at out hotel and made our way to Central Paris for some sightseeing. We started at the Arc de Triomphe …
Another early start - 8.15 in the coach for sights around Paris and our first close up of the Eiffel Tower. Onto Notre Dame, up to the village of Montmartre - a great village for artists, who were busy doing their thing. Thanks to Rachel who had given us the heads up about this village, having been there some years ago on school exchange, we were able to enjoy our brief time there as she had. Lots of artists doing portraits and ...
... Le Tour 2013. Special moment when we lunched under the trees in the Gardens - a very fresh salad that was oh so good.
Then on to La Grande Roué (ferris wheel). After doing the London Eye 2 years ago, we had to take a bird's eye look at Paris. We weren't disappointed. Lots of people in the Tuileries but still very relaxed, great ambience.
Walked back from the Rue de Rivoli, to the Galleries Lafayette. We'll do ...
... weird, but we took our cupcake and went on a bit of hike down to the Jardin du Luxembourg, which is a massive public park with a large manor house in it. We sat down on the grass, enjoying the surrounds - It was so pretty and so nice in the shade. We opened up the cupcake and it would have had to have been one of the best cupcakes I think I've ever eaten. The crazy girl at the shop now seemed less crazy. (Once we got home, Jason looked up the shop on Trip Advisor and it turned out ...
