Historical Traveler Reviews of Sofitel Los Angeles - Beverly Hills

Compared to the Sofitel Montreal, this hotel is a dump. The location is terrific, but if you plan to spend time in your room pick another hotel. My first room had a wonderful down/duvet/comforter, but didn't have high speed internet which I needed. They moved me to another room (for another ($20) that had high speed, but no down comforter. Instead I had an old bedspread. The furniture pieces didn't match, the wallpaper was hideous, and the phone was so grimy I was afraid to put it near my face! Room service was timely, and the food was okay.
Good service, no desk in room?!

I had booked three rooms at the hotel for a total of 6 nights for a trade fair we were visiting. My primary reason for choosing the Sofitel was its great location right across from the Beverly Center The hotel lobby, valet and other common areas were very nice and service was professional but not overly friendly. I had requested one of the room with two beds which they couldn't accomodate at first and they weren't exactly going out of their way to find a compromise. We ended up with a smallish room on the smoking floor right above the main entrance. I wasn't thrilled and tried to change it but no can do. The room was small and lacked any type of work desk or high speed internet access which was a major draw-back. The bathroom was comparably large but showed signs of age. They had nightly turndown service with a small bottel of Evian which was a nice touch. The pool and gym were top notch! Lots of equipment and in great shape. $18 valet per night is not a steal but parking in LA is not exactly cheap wherever you go. Overall I think it was a very pleasant hotel for the price we paid ($100) but I would certainly be hesitant to pay top-dollar for the place.
Great Business Trip

I stayed at the Sofitel on business for a total of 8 weeks in 3 months.
You may change rooms during any hours of the day/evening. No questions asked. The staff is friendly and courteous. They remember what room you like the best. The restaurant wait-staff are excellent. You may order from the bar menu in the French restaurant. They have "Ben & Jerry's" on the room service menu! The parking is now $18.50/day which is a little steep but the valet staff are working on being a little more professional. :o) The bathrooms are huge with nice amenities, the rooms are quiet and they are decorated in French colors. The exercise gym is the best I've ever seen in any hotel. The turndown service is a nice touch. The hotel is walking distance to the Beverly Center where other nice restaurants tempt your palate. Not bad for a 4-star hotel!

Service is good, employees are very courteous, but just dissapointed with the flooded bathtub and dirty carpet..., not looking forward to stay here again.
Nice, but nothing fabulous

The rooms were much like any other hotel. Nice decor overall and decent staff. Of the three nights we stayed there we only received turn down service the last evening (a bottle of evian) and the conceirge gave us poor directions. Parking is expensive. Overall quite average for an above average price.

Convenient location next to Beverly Center shopping. Great workout facility. Reasonably priced at $185 per night. Friendly service. Rooms are above average.
Loved Sofitel

Very Nice Hotel...Fabulous workout facility (best I've ever seen in a hotel)....Breakfast is included (you can order up to $31 worth of breakfast a room) and it is great...Great Central location...rooms are very comfortable...But parking is expensive ($18 a day) and kind of a pain....I would definite stay here again and would love to stay in another Sofitel hotel!
Highly Recommended

The Sofitel is in a great location, the employees are incredibly friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and although I'm sure we were in the smallest of their rooms, we had plenty of space and the bathroom was roomy and private. Although it's in the middle of busy Beverly Hills, it is a quiet, relaxing place to stay. The only downer was the expensive valet parking ($18 overnight) but I learned that is to be expected anywhere in LA. We got a great deal on our rate through the internet and I couldn't have been more pleased with the Sofitel!
First Class!!

Wonderful Hotel. My wife and I stayed here for about a week. Everyone is very friendly. The rooms are average size, but very nice. They clean the room every single night, complete with a bottle of water, soothing music, and a weather forecast for the next day. I would highly reccomend anyone coming to Beverly Hills to stay here. We'll definetely be back!!
Best of the Best

UNBELIEVABLE IS ALL I CAN SAY......This hotel is amazing....the service is top notch, the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the proximity to every hotspot first time visitors to LA would want to see is perfect. Directly across the street is a huge mall called the Beverly Centre, all the best stores and then some. Two miles maximum from Hollywood Walk of Fame, a mile from CBS Studios and about a 25 minute drive to Santa Monica Pier which is incredible at sunset. We will definitely be back, no question. Thanks again for the incredible experience.
