... along the main walking street to the plaza at the end which is one of the nicest main squares in Europe. Then out to the canal where a beautiful old galleon was giving rides to tourists. Another street full of Amber hawkers, this of course the centre of the amber trade. Returned to the city later for dinner. A very good pasta in a busy brewery restaurant. ... of the day exploring it. In the evening, we book a show as planned, and watch ‘Kupiec Wenecki’ or The Merchant of Venice – in Polish but with English supertitles. The supertitles are not in time and occasionally try to ‘catch up’ by scanning through most of a conversation in a few seconds. So the show is slightly hard work to follow, but we both still really enjoy it and it will not put us off going to see another show in a foreign language. ...
