I was wide awake at 6am as the light began to stream through the windows onto our bed. With no need to be up early for breakfast, the routine of getting up at 7am was broken. Whilst I did stir at 7am, it was very easy to fall asleep for another few hours. It's actually a bit of a culture shock coming from backpacker life straight to the lap of luxury. Our last full day in our luxury hotel, in fact our last full day in Fiji, the last two weeks have just flown by so quickly. We got up fairly early this morning, so we could make the most of our final day. After a long 10+ hour flight across the Pacific Ocean, the Study Australia group finally arrived in Nadi, Fiji (only to take another hour or so to get through customs!). We threw all of our luggage on a bus and headed for the Sofitel resort. When we got to the resort, each of us organized a small bag to take to Botaira and Beachcomber. ... tarjouksia on hienoimmisakin paikoissa ( niinku tää Treasure Island resort alle 80 eskoo/yö) ja backpacker resottejakin on reilustu varsinkin Yasawan ja Mamanucasin saariryhmillä. Halvin dormi-majoitus tais jossain olla abaut 10 euroo yö, melko halpa siis. Eli sit vaan halpoja lentoja metskaamaan tai lentoyhtiöön duuniin (ei kannata, niil kaikilla menee sika huonosti...) ja klyyvarit kohti Fidjiä. Kannattaa ehdottomasti!!

... in Nadi town centre. Nadi is a dirty third worldish type place with a lot of the main stores of the main road being Indian owned instead of locally owned. We leave the girls and decide to meet up later, and souvenir shop in allthe big shops including buying Kava for the boys back home. We grab some Indian food from the type of shop we ate in all the time whilst in asia, but we have reverted to western type eating and it makes me nervous as i really don't want to get sick on the long ...

... puolella! Jostain oudosta syystä täällä on hirveästi Intialaisia ja kaupustelu on heti samaa luokkaa. Meidänkin taksikuski oli sellainen äijä ja vedättäjä, että ei mitään rajaa! Ensin oli tiet (muka) tulvassa ja piti käyttää kaikkia kiertoreittejä ja seuraavaksi oli about viiden metrin välein jotain hienoja nähtävyyksiä, mitä hän olisi halunnut "vain muutamalla lisädollarilla" ehdottomasti näyttää! Oli aika lähellä etten ollut tämän suharin pillissä jo kiinni, mutta ...

... the port/main marina area and ate at Hard Rock Fiji. We knew what the food would be and we both wanted a good ol' burger....and that's what we both got. Mine had quacamole, pineapple salsa and hot sauce; John's had bacon and cheese. John got a beer and I got a fountain Coke! Aahh The resort was wonderful and the staff was great. The beaches aren't like in the Yasawa Islands but it's a pretty beachside resort.

... 3 mal am Tag geschrien, als wuerde er aufgespiesst werden (ohne Witz). Ich koennt noch 1000 Einzelheiten erzaehlen, aber das ist alles nicht so interessant. Insgesamt war es ein sehr relaxter Urlaubn (auch fuer mich, musste "nur" 2 mal abends kurz babysitten und 2 mal fuer 2 Stunden am Tag auf die Kids aufpassen). Den Rest hatten die Kinder naemlich andere babysitter ausm Kids club. Pro Stunde verdienen die jungen Maedels, die da arbeiten, 3 fiji dollar. Das sind ca. 1,35 ...
