Hi everyone
On Friday, we visited the amazing Burj al Arab hotel for lunch. The only way you can get in is if you are a guest (it costs $1000's a night) or if you make a booking for lunch or dinner.
This hotel is the only 7-star hotel in the world, and unless we win lotto I don't think that I'll ever be able to stay a night ...
Hi every one
We arrived safe and sound in Dubai after a pretty unevenful 10 1/2 hour flight from Perth. From there things went a little south, as our hotel that mum had booked told us that they didn't have a spare room for us, but they had given us another room at the Marriot hotel around the corner - and from there things started looking up again. We were put into a massive 2 bedroom suite overlooking the Palm Atlantis hotel. So we had two ...

... a counter and you can always walk up---here they share counters and just list flights when you can check in), so I went back out of security to wait around the food court. Around 6:30 they started selling food. I ordered a chicken shwarma plate and a juice---it came to 45 AED and they would only take cash—I told the guy I’d have to cancel the juice 'cuz I only had 40 dirhams, but he said he’d give me a different juice for an ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates bohemianbadgerWe are feeling sad of course to be leaving this country, I have quite fallen in love with it, and could easily spend more time just traveling around, there is so much to see, a diverse country, but the history is absorbing. Today has been `laid back', we had a nice lunch out, and then I split from the family to do last minute shopping. We are not in Dubai yet, but an early start, the taxi is ordered for 2.45am, yuk, but we have more or less ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates mablim... moc spokojeni. BTW: Zradla na palube letadla tolik, ze jsme meli problem to vubec zbastit. Rano odlet zase perfektni, vzhledem k tomu ze jsme se vubec nevyspali, tak nam delsi cesta z dubaje do bkk utekla vsem rychle. O zbytek casu se postaralo zrani a palubni televize v sedackach s hrama. Adrika je kralovna tetris. Petr s Jindrou zase valcili Lode :-)
Dubai, United Arab Emirates epcim... What made things more difficult for me was that I barely had any credits left on my Qatar mobile and I couldn't buy any credits in Dubai. This made my communication efforts more difficult as I had a very limited amount of minutes left. I head back to the hotel and come to accept that I'm going to miss my flight. I finally got a call from her but at this point it was way too late. She was sleeping. It was a stupid mistake on my part, I quickly realized that. Have you ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates jacoba... spaces. Public spaces were once the locations for public debate and conversation. They were places to transfer information. As a commercial product in a digital age, gathering spaces are now sources of entertainment and public discourse is fed by a variety of media outlets. The market is a mall is an entertainment center...and for the right price, it snows in the desert. I wanted to hate it. I wanted to hate the excess and the absurdity of it, but I couldn't. Once I saw people ...

Dubai, United Arab Emirates jordanblair100Ana Jason, ana min America! I officially know two sentences in Arabic, and hopefully I'll be learning many more. So far, Arabic seems like the class I'm going to have the most fun in, it doesn't seem to hard and its stuff that actually interests me. I was doing pretty good in it, so well that the teacher was certain I had taken an Arabic course before. So that was good to hear, hopefully I'll keep ...
