Still flat seas but wherever you looked other yachts were motoring 3.15pm engine off at last but only for 1 hour as at 4.15 engine on, what a shame lets hope for more wind tomorrow for going to Ile de yeu. After coming back from Rennes we enjoyed dinner in the cockpit. Just in front of where we are moored there's a bandstand and in the evening around 30 or so people were old fashioned dancing until the late hours. it was really lovely to watch as it was people of all ages.

Jonathan had Penne Arabica, with spicy sauce and chorizo, and chocolate mousse. All delicious and washed down with half a carafe of Merlot. At 2pm it was amazing to see crowds of suited men and well dressed women suddenly swarm through the town and return to work and the cafe ...

... I stood looking out over the deep ravine in which the River Rance runs far below, and watched a cerise sun rise over the far ridge. Stunning. It lit up the wall and buildings with an orange glow. Lots of photos and then made my way back, and still not 7am.

We had decided to go to Vannes and Carnac today. Carnac had always been on the list, a significant site for its thousands of standing stones or alignments. Vannes I'd never heard of but ...
