... unbeknown to birthday boy, .........Alain the Chef had baked a birthday. cake (chocolate torte) and organised a barbecue on top deck of the boat for a celebration dinner party.

Sunday 2nd August
We left Port Vecchio and sailed for about 2 hours into another bay not far from the next town put down the anchor and had more swimming.
What a delightful day, water temp about 25deg, we donned our bathers and dived in, the water was so refreshing....we haven't swam so much in a short amount of days,!!!!!!
Had lunch, sun baked and left about 4pm to sail into Propriano arriving at 5.30pm.
... seller looked ecstatic as he then asked "aaaaah tu parlez francais??!" I hurriedly told him that I only spoke a little but it was too late....he was off, chattering away, holding up the shawl sideways and pointing to it and then turning it over, still chatting away and pointing. I still don't have a clue what he was saying but still....we bought the shawl. O-o
I think my accent is what causes the locals to believe I speak ...
... open sea! Consuming all our water as well as purchasing more drinks, we decided to retreat to the air conditioned comfort of our home away from home and have a late lunch. This was the one and only day where we didn't stop off at any port. We certainly made the most of it :) A sleep in, a late breakfast on the terrace of the Collonade and then a massage for Libby @ 10:00. I thought this was a lovely way to celebrate Avril and Ruth's birthdays!! By the time I was finished, relaxed, showered and coiffed (!). It was time for 'The ...
