Great location right in the middle of Broadbeach and surrounded by some very good bars and restaurants including Koi (where I had a late lunch of duck pancakes and Moroccan lamb) and Moo Moos which is right across the road from the hotel. Kurrawa Surf Life Savers Club and the beach is just a 5 minute walk away, and the lovely Cascade Park about 10 minutes walk. Rooms are comfortable and my balcony looked south over the beach and the water even though I didn't upgrade to an ocean view.

... opened, so I dashed for cover under the Surf Club.

Having seen 'Summer Bay' I decided it was time to go and find some elevenses, however as the little kiosk was closed it was a bit of a walk back towards town, it was a very picturesque stroll though. A tad too hilly for my liking, but the views got me through, plus I went past some very expensive looking houses. Now I hadn't really figured out (clearly didn't pay enough attention) as to how far town was, after about half ...

... the night before and getting Luke psyched up for the Aqualoop, we have our first setback. Apparently I didn't read the part where you need to be 45kg, otherwise you don't have the momentum to carry over from the 20m vertical drop to successfully navigate the loop to loop. I was sorry for Luke as it was one thrill ride he would go it alone and have thrill ride superiority over us. So we went to the next ride, the big green water ...

Very hot in the room last night. Up around 8am. Set out around half 9, we headed down Beach Road towards the Esplanade. Beautiful sunny day even though it was forecast rain. Temperature up towards 31 degrees!! We took every opportunity possible to get some shade it was so warm, we had a little wander around the Cavill Mall too, checking out the vast array of shops. Around half 12 we picked up some lunch and sat on the Esplanade by the beach, we ...

I decided to spend the morning sunbathing, so after I'd had breakfast and checked out I went a laid by the pool. I've quite enjoyed my time at surfers, even if it has been a little lonely! After sunbathing pretty much all morning Kirsten said she could meet me for 10mins before I leave, I had to pop to Coles anyways to get some bits for lunch, so I waited in town to hear from her but she didn't have time ect.. So I walked back to hostel and had lunch and it started to rain! Was crazy!! ...

It was cooler last night, but a sunny warm morning. I will have to get used to the humidity here. We were up early, and by 11.15 I was starting to get a bit toey waiting for Jo and the kids to arrive. I walked up to the office, and suddenly I had Mikayla running towards me. The rest of the kids followed, Jo was in the office booking in. They were all very excited, as was I to see them. We gowt them settled in ...
