We stopped by to see the Moores. Steve said Pam wanted for all of us to go out to eat at an Italian restaurant for supper. Pam arranged to pick all of us up with a Maxi Taxi and went to the hotel Soffitel. The Mario restaurant was pretty busy. It must be a very popular restaurant. I ordered Today's special of linguini with shrimps and mushrooms. Marvin had Fish special. Both were really good. After dinner we rode on a monorail.

Queensland

I went up to Queensland the other day to escape the cold Melbourne weather. It was raining when we arrived which made me think 'Why did I come here?'. The next two days were nice and sunny.

On tour...

Week 44 Sydney to Gold Coast

... blue sunny day...gorgeous. Can't believe everyone was complaining about how cold it was (Sweet Jesus...they should go to New Zealand and live in a van for a week). After a few hours of this and not quite reaching the destination I turned back and headed for the local shopping centre for a wander. Then walked back Corrumbinand met up with Belinda. Chatted to some of her work mates. One thing of n ote is that the Aussie's really do call the English Pommes. I always ...

... The water was running down the hill like a waterfall.. it was gushing down so fast that it was sweeping people's shoes off their feet!! I had pumps on so had to keep the toes curled to hold on to my shoes!! Anyway, thankfully we made it to the train ok, although the humidity down in the underground station was almost unbearable. Being drenched right through your clothing is one thing but then standing in the equivalent to a sauna with wet clothes on is awful. Anyway, we ...

Brisbane Day #7

... shore watching. The area that you are allowed to swim in - between the red/yellow flag - was only a span of about 50 feet. During our time swimming we were able to watch 4 emergency rescues where people had been swept out in the current. 3 of the people rescued happened to be swimming right in front of Dustin/Tyler/Julie!?!?!? We have only 1 picture of Surfers Paradise as someone forgot to bring the camera.......

This is not Miami...

... forever! I arrived in Surfer's Paradise ecstatic to see and eat at a McDonalds. I ended up eating McDonalds twice in an eight hour period. It was fantastic! I think my love for McDonalds grew with abstenance. While in Surfer's I stayed with my friend Chelsey's ex-boyfriend. He runs pub crawls in Surfer's and took me out both nights. It is awfully hard to explain how I felt when I arrived in Surfer's. I spent two months in ...

Surfers Paradise

... I spent shopping and at the beach and then it was off to Brisvegas for 5 nights. Did Zorbing on the way which basically means getting in a big rubber ball half filled with water and rolling down a hill. Only got one go at it but it was vey good fun, thinkI'll try it again in NZ as that is where it was invented.

Brisbane

... be the Temple Bar equivalent... We walked around and left again, back into town to find a restaurant and by the time we had finished we were ready to collapse. Day 3 in Brisbane was spent on the tourist bus. We went around twice, stopping at Park Street for coffee and the Southbank area for the markets, the lagoon and the walk along the river before walking over the bridge into the Botanic gardens and into town again. Our bus to Byron Bay left at 4.30pm.
