Great location right in the middle of Broadbeach and surrounded by some very good bars and restaurants including Koi (where I had a late lunch of duck pancakes and Moroccan lamb) and Moo Moos which is right across the road from the hotel. Kurrawa Surf Life Savers Club and the beach is just a 5 minute walk away, and the lovely Cascade Park about 10 minutes walk. Rooms are comfortable and my balcony looked south over the beach and the water even though I didn't upgrade to an ocean view.

Very yummy! then got bus back to hostel, I tried to get hold of Kirsten but she wasn't answering on Facebook or my texts so I put my phone on loud and had a nap, still didn't hear from her though, so I had dinner and booked my hotel in Bangkok then I got a text from her saying she fell asleep, by this point I couldn't be bothered so I showered and got ready for bed ...

This morning I managed to drag myself from bed in time to catch the sunrise over the ocean (see photo). I then quickly snuggled back in. So, we rarely go swimming whilst at home and, although we often visit the beach with Nelly, we never don our swimming costumes. However, we both LOVE water parks. One of the main reasons we visited the Gold Coast was so we could visit 'Wet n Wild'. It may surprise many that for someone who can't swim, dislikes crowds and has a bad ...

Surfers Paradise Even on our bus journey into the Gold Coast I loved the place and have decided that when I'm older this is where I'm going to live! One of the massive mansions by the lake with the outdoor pool and boat at the bottom of the garden, yes please! Our accommodation was not so fancy but still nice and they organised nights out every night so we had to join in on the first night! Free drinks in the hostel and $3 drinks all night, winning! We met a ...

... and play some blackjack, around an hour later I'm in the lift looking at 26 buttons with no idea which floor I'm on, I pull out my key card but its blank in our haste to get down to the bar we had thrown our bags in the room and gone, it didn't strike me to look at the room number or even the floor number, oh and my mobile was in my bag. Brain wave, I went back to reception and said to the girl I know this sounds stupid but ...

... booked for tonight which we were all looking forward to. We bought a box of goon to get us in the mood whilst getting ready, cheapest yet at $10 for 4 litres of wine!! Treat! We went to 4 places on the pub crawl, we went to beer garden first, then a bowling alley called strikes, then a club called blush and the ended up in another club called Liv. We had a fantastic night, so much fun. In the bowling alley the first 10 people to get strikes got ...
