Great location right in the middle of Broadbeach and surrounded by some very good bars and restaurants including Koi (where I had a late lunch of duck pancakes and Moroccan lamb) and Moo Moos which is right across the road from the hotel. Kurrawa Surf Life Savers Club and the beach is just a 5 minute walk away, and the lovely Cascade Park about 10 minutes walk. Rooms are comfortable and my balcony looked south over the beach and the water even though I didn't upgrade to an ocean view.

... Comment "Needs more rum". Probably she should have put some in as well. Next time.

From there we went into Brisbane where Allan collected his new Nikon Camera and Sharon her new lens. Allan now has the mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens. Sharon added a new Tamron lens to her basic DSLR camera.

Looking forward to our next visit. Getting very exciting as we near completion.

This morning I managed to drag myself from bed in time to catch the sunrise over the ocean (see photo). I then quickly snuggled back in. So, we rarely go swimming whilst at home and, although we often visit the beach with Nelly, we never don our swimming costumes. However, we both LOVE water parks. One of the main reasons we visited the Gold Coast was so we could visit 'Wet n Wild'. It may surprise many that for someone who can't swim, dislikes crowds and has a bad ...

Wow what a great feed, Matt got the tiger prawns with salad, they were huge and really tastie, I got the usual, steak sandwich, it came on a sourdough roll with some chips, huge feed, will come back here any time. We check out the surf shop, can't believe how huge the stor is every bit of surf and beach wear and accessories you can imagine. Time to head home. Don't get home till 4pm, great day thanks ...

... were going to stay. Byron would be nice but with all the fuss in the morning, was out of the picture.

Christine jumped on the iPhone and within no time we had a Wotif mystery hotel in Surfers Paradise. We knew it would be nice but for $100.00 the Crowne Plaza was a welcome surprise and a big step up from the van.

We had always planned to try to sell the van in Brisbane by the end of July. Tick that ...

... and play some blackjack, around an hour later I'm in the lift looking at 26 buttons with no idea which floor I'm on, I pull out my key card but its blank in our haste to get down to the bar we had thrown our bags in the room and gone, it didn't strike me to look at the room number or even the floor number, oh and my mobile was in my bag. Brain wave, I went back to reception and said to the girl I know this sounds stupid but ...
