On our first outing we cruised in our hired wheels down the coast from Paphos to Limassol and past Lanarka to Fig Tree Bay. She was a blowy day so although we wore considerably less than a usual London day we still needed light cardigans. Easter is a big holiday here so at roundabouts and intersections everywhere were giant Easter eggs and bunnies. Unfortunately they were not made of chocolate (I ...

... I knew I wanted to head somewhere south and warmer for our "Settimana Bianca" in February. Two friends and I tossed around ideas like Malta, Sicily, and Crete, only to arrive at our final choice of Cyprus. Cyprus?? Never even imagined I'd be vacationing there. But, the airfare was cheap and the weather was gorgeous. Why not Cyprus?

Refreshing) We stopped to see where Kriton's Mum is buried in her home village, and laid some ...

There didn't appear to be any significant damage to the Micra other than a slightly-askew licence plate, but that was to be expected - the Micra is so tiny compared to most cars, that it's a bit like a mosquito running into a wall, with it bouncing right off. Of course, the other car had to be a Jaguar, and though it also had no visible damage, even repairing the smallest paint chip would probably end up costing $1000!

Finally a holiday place in Cyprus!

      ... of town.

Sure this part of Pafos is not very Cypriot, but it was fun and easy, and those sights close by are great. It really made us feel like we were on holiday and was so much more fun than other places weŽd been, and sights better too!

Next day we saw Pafos archealogical sight with some good mosaics and setting by the sea, then took bus to Aphrodites rock. Bus station really helpful in Pafos (Limassol take note!) and ...
